I had an idea for you: This is my sad attempt to do it using one of your pix and Micosoft's Paintbrush. I am betting you could do better with real brushes. But send little "dags" of green down into the cream belly color. Using the grooves that are already there, some of which have green paint in them already, as boundaries.
Haven't gotten around to much painting this summer, too much going on/too many projects started, but I've finished a wood elf for a friend of mine. I tried to make the hawk look like a Northen Goshawk, but the guy who's getting it as a present is a biologist, so he's probably going to notice my lack of expertise in that area The Carnosaur w/rider is almost done and it's coming up soon!!
Oh that is brilliant work! The whole thing looks so good and your attention to fine detail really shows through. Love the gems and that cape is simply amazing. My wife @Mrs. NIGHTBRINGER plays Wood Elves so I'm sure she'll love these pictures!
Very nice painting skills, attention to detail is spot on. Northern Goshawk looks really good but they are a tad more grey/brown on top, but who cares lovely job I think it deserves a P.s How long did the model take to complete?
Thank you for your kind words! I agree about the color tone on the hawk, it should have been darker. Alas it's too late now, as it's on it's way per mail. If I were to guess, I'd say the paint job took me about 10-12 hours.
The Carnosaur is ready for battle! I also added a little detail on the Stegadon, so it'll tie subtly with the Skink Priest and the Carno: Bonus, Black Orc Big Boss on Wyvern (it's technically at least 70% lizard ). I have had the wyvern standing around painted for 1-2 years now, so really, the only new addition is the orc hero. I can't stand half finished models That's it for now. My interest in traditional painting (on canvas) has been building for some time now. I've already started fiddling with colors, and I think I really like it. Sadly, I've come to the conclusion that I do not have time for both Warhammer and a new hobby. Because of this I am going to take a break from painting warhammer. I'll probably be having a game now and then, so maybe it'll draw me right back in again, who knows. I shall have to wait and see. I feel I'm starting from rock bottom with the painting project, so I've enrolled in an online painting course to get some valuable lessons and pointers. But it is as with everything we want to get good at; do the work, put in the hours. Lastly I've got to say I cannot commend this community enough. There's so many inspired, talented and kind people here, and I hope you all continue passionately with warhammer and everything it entails. It is an awesome hobby. -Kwalaar
