Those are some awesome concept sketches. I like the no legs concept because it differs from the GW models and gives players an alternative option (as opposed to directly competing with GW). The design posted above looks really good.
First - Let me say the concept art is awesome However... These look really close to the Undying Dynasty stalkers, so I'm not liking them as SA model. I think all the SA should be bipedal personally.
Tough call...I prefer them with legs, but Nightbringer makes a good point about diversity. The similarity to the UD units may also be because of the whole Ancient Egyptian feel - maybe they wouldn't seem similar if they wore different ornaments? Also, the view from the back reminds me of the sketches of the Protoss in the Star Craft manual.
I generally like legs better, but these guys with no legs would be awesome as some other unit than just our general rank-and-file. Maybe once some new unit get created later down the line? Or if they're Monstrous Infantry sized, they could make cool Crox/Caimans. I like the full face mask one quite a bit.
No. Others will surely pick up creating alternatives to LM/SA/Seraphons/whatever. Having different looking alternatives is only good for the overall scaly community. The above doesn't suit my current theme, but I could definitly see it working ^^
Well this sketch was made in the Egyptian theme by a misunderstanding, I had it made, while we were working on the UD concepts, and our artist assumed it was for the UD. This will be corrected before we start work, on the SA campaign. This concept will be used to do Cami's While the SA warriors will have appropriate legged versions.
Without legs a further Indian look could be an interesting alternative, I'm thinking Naga's, looks too much like the ornamentation of Undying Dynasty as of now But they are pretty cool, though. I would like to see them with or without legs, really.
I personally prefer legs, but mainly because the tail option makes them seem a little bit too close to the snake creatures from Tomb kings.
First, awesome drawings. Second, depending on how the fluff is written the Sauri could be the reason for the Tomb King's look, i.e. the Lizards raised the TKs. Third, why are they called Caimen if they're going to look snake like instead of crocodilian?
I would assume that the change wouldn't happen to the Caimen, perhaps But I would also say that the name was made with the old models in mind.. Sooo there is that...
I guess they could also fluff it up by saying that there are multiple species that fulfill the same battlefield role. Thus you could have both the crocodilian Caimen and the serpentine (insert name here).
