So tossing around some ideas I have a come up with a list I could do with some advise on please:

    Shadowstrike starhost (120)
    Starpriest (100)
    3 x Rippers (140)
    10 x chameleon skinks (240)
    30 x skinks with blowpipes (240)

    Old Blood on Carnosaur (320)
    Slann (260)
    Eternity Warden (140)
    10 x Guard (200)
    10 x knights with lances (240)

I'd like the Old blood as my General but unsure of which artefact to give him, maybe phoenix stone to keep him alive a bit longer? C&C's welcome, tournament list writing is turning into a bit of a nightmare!

    What I would do.
take the 10 chama skinks and split them into 2 units of 5: more chances to take objectives, you can place them in cover more easily, skip targets and so on.

Slann is strong and the constellation is great, but I would probably pick a Starseer (160) for the re-rolls and curse of fate, and with the saved 100 points I'd take 15 guards, instead of 10.

You'll have a fast block with a strong general (OB + kinghts), a slow marching block formed by guards and warden, a large light shooting unit and assassins. You need to cohordinate carefully your units, to act as an army and not as "individual" blocks.

Took your advice and tried it out last night, ended in a narrow loss to me. Carnosaur killed his mammoth in two rounds and it was really close. Really like the balance of the list to be honest :)

For Mammoth you mean Stonehorn (the one that halves wounds) or thundertusks (the one that deals mortal wounds from a distance)?

nasty behemoths, and nasty army to face. a close game is a good result!

(btw... do you know that the re-rolls of the Starseer can be used also to see who starts the turn?)

No it was a forgeworld chaos war mammoth, 22 wounds! I've got beastclaws on wednesday so will be interesting it see how the list goes. Used my serpent staff on my carnosaur and got some sixes on the to wound roll which dealt out 6 damage each! Also found the serpent staff works really well with cold ones

Needs some more practise but I'm happy with it so far unfortunately the mission was blood and glory so it was hard to combine everything together with the objectives so spread out!

Update: Took 5 guard out and put in a scar vet on cold one, with his command ability and serpent staff on my knights dished out a lot of damage! Managed to beat beastclaw raiders tonight, tough game but the flexibility and model count won it for me. Also the starseers rerolls really paid off :)

You should be able to take two artifacts on two different heroes due to having a battalion.

So here is my updated list for my coming tournament :
    Shadowstrike starhost (120)
    Starpriest (100)
    3 x Rippers (140)
    5 x chameleon skinks (120)
    5 x Chameleon Skinks (120)

    30 x skinks with blowpipes (240)
    Old Blood on Carnosaur (320)
    Starseer (160)
    Eternity Warden (140)
    Starpriest (100)
    10 x Guard (200)
    10 x knights with lances (240)

Tried this list various times with mixed success but find it a bit fragile so I would like advice on this list:

    Shadowstrike starhost (120)
    Skink priest (100)
    3 x Rippers (140)
    5 x chameleon skinks (120)
    5 x chameleon skinks (120)

    Eternity starhost (80)
    3 x 10 guard (600)
    Eternity warden (140)

    Old Blood on Carnosaur (320)
    Starseer (160)

This leaves me with 100 points over, should i go for 5 more guard, a skink starpriest or maybe a scar vet on cold one? Thanks in advance

I would go for the scar-vet for the rerolls.

I was thinking the same, re-rolling a lot of stuff in that list, not much i can do against armies which dish out a lot of mortal wounds though
