Hi there, after a longer break I'll be playing a little campaign here. Only thing is: no lords, one main character and his "deputy". Each one of them is allowed 1 magic item up to 50 pts. If you slay an enemy character you get that item. Caster lvl 1, bound spells allowed. Enemies will be Khemri, Skaven, Ogres, and Dwarves. Here's the list I would play, c+c welcome.... Ca'Cahue'Te, ScarVet, General CO, GW, Armour of Destiny Chi'Li Pe'Pa, Priest lvl 1, Deputy Ruby Ring, Lore of Beasts 26 Saurus, FC 2x 10 Skirmishers Bastilodon 5 Chamaeleons 1 Salamander, extra snack Makes exactly 999 pts. Your thoughts/advice for a beginner ?
Looks like a pretty solid list. The ScarVet should perform very well. You have lots of magic between the priest, bound spell and the Bastilodon (assuming you're fielding the Solardon). Skirmishers and the Salamander are great and the Saurus should be able to mop up once you weaken your foes with magic/shooting.
Ja I tried to focus on magic a little bit. 2 bound spells against larger units (not too bad when they blow up), saurus as deterrent. ScarVet should handle the other characters. Are 2 units skinks enough? Or skip the bastilodon for more skinks/sallies or even rippers?
OK thanks so far for the input. I'll crunch a little more on the list, as we only start in 4 weeks. Any further input is welcome...
By the way....should I add some TG? Or are they too expensive in low point games? What unit size of TG is good? Is there a sweet spot in relation to TG unit size/cost and game size? Also: if restricted to one lvl 1 priest, with aforementioned enemies, would I get more mileage from lore of beasts or heavens? Thanks a lot...
TG don't have as many bonuses then they aren't guarding a Slann, and are a bit expensive to field on their own in a low point game. Beast and heavens are both good, as their default spells are quite nice. ... you do have a big unit of Saurus... so Heavens may be slightly better.
