https://www.warhammer-community.com/2017/03/15/war-returns-to-armageddon/ So after the long wait for a new version of Necromunda, it looks like we are getting slightly less munda then first expected. I'm still excited by the idea of persistent squads in a hive setting, but i'm not sure about using existing races from 40K to do it with Thoughts?
Could be interesting, the terrain looks amazing. I like that the boxes are available so you can just pick them up and get them ready to go... Will need to wait and see how it plays I guess.
Thanks for the heads-up link. Looks interesting, though not what I imagined a hive-city would look like on the inside. The terrain makes me think more steampunk than anything. I would prefer something that looks like the inside of a modern day factory, or even an oil rig. Spoiler: Examples of what I mean (mostly Necromunda terrain)
I loved necromunda's rules. Hated playing as the gangs, but I am super excited to play as either my grey knights or deathwatch much cooler than some mad max wannabe gang member. Also don't have to spend more money on the hobby. If daemons of khorne get rules too I'll have 3 armies to use in it which is great too. Now if only they'd release mordheim but with Sigmar style initiative, magic and phases....
That would be cool but I somehow doubt it will happen, and if it did it wouldn't be as epic and crazy as the original!
Have you seen The Hinerlands project? http://www.tga.community/files/file...-campaigns-in-the-mortal-realms-by-sam-james/
It is really easy to play and very addictive, I was at the shop last night and I told them about it and they all seemed very eager to try it, where are you in the UK?
I live in Herefordshire, so it's like an hour and a half to any major city... Literally the asshole of nowhere. Takes me 40 mins just to get to the nearest GW as it is
I'm Barnoldswick, Lancashire so around 40mins from Harrogate or 50 from Manchester so choice of 2 GW stores but the shop I goto is Skipton 15mins away, have you looked for gaming clubs etc? I just rang round all the local shops.
I pass the GW on my way home from work, so it's easy enough to drop into if I am going that way... They do events on a Friday night until 8pm, so by the time I get there from work there's about 2 hours left. Mostly kids though, which I don't object to in general, it's just loud and they don't focus on anything for long. Went there for Mordheim last week and I got one game in after setting up my warband. I'd rather find an older crowd if possible, so might have to make some calls or suggest that the older lot from the Friday night thing do something after...
Shop where I go has a mix but all are mid 20ies so still very young compared to me but most play D&D or played 8th so fairly focused and know their stuff. It was 10pm when I left and the shop shuts at 9pm, guy that owns it is really laid back and let's you finish your game.
That'd be ideal. My wife teaches one of the kids who goes to the local GW. It's awkward AF when I drag her in there on a Saturday morning to get my plastic crack fix and the kid is there awkwardly trying to hide behind the nearest painting table.
Oh yeah I bet, my wife also a teacher has a student teacher wanting to start a AOS club at school but she will not tell him I play for the same reason.
http://www.lavozdehorus.com/tag/shadow-war/ Also this website can be translated to poor english but it has the Tau, Eldar and Deldar (Wyches) leaked rules and equipment which are in English (pictures)
In regards to troop rules, there is a PDF on the downloads tab of the product page that has all of the race rules. https://www.games-workshop.com/resources/PDF/ShadowWar/SWA_Killteams_ENG.pdf
It's fun, and it's Necromunda-like, but it doesn't scratch my full itch for it. But that may be gamer nostalgia holding back my fun. (I admit it!)
