Hey guys went on to Gw web site last night and saw this Any idea if they are realising new models or has this model no longer being made ? Or is this the start of us getting new units
The Start Collecting box costs the same as a stand alone Carno, so it makes no sense to sell it on its own.
Yeah seems they are just going to sell them as the start collecting. Makes more sense, as most aren't buying the stand alones.
Feedback from a GW Store Manager was that in the two years the store has been open he literally sold zero, bit fat nada Troglodon/Carnosaur boxes, so yeah it's purely a sales thing.
I got conformation from my Store Manager that there was no reason to keep selling them individually at 85. Also, for once, they feared customer backlash lowering the price by the folks who did pay 85 for a single one.
Well that's a bit disappointing. I mean, it's all fine and dandy for buying a nice set, but still. Bits will be harder to come by now.
Why is this disappointing? We can now get a Carno + Saurus + Saurus Cav for the same price as a stand alone carno. If anything, bits will be easier to come by now.
Now? Nothing has changed. People didn't buy the Carnosaur kit they always got the Start Collecting kit even if only wanting a Carnosaur, that's why bits are fairly easy to get. The only bit hard to get is the Oldbloods body.
Yeah, makes perfect sense to put them to bed - no one is going to pay the same amount for a Carno if they can buy a SC box and get all that extra stuff thrown in. The Seraphon SC box is (was?) the best value one by a fair whack when you consider what you can build from it!
Well, hopefully we get another big kit, the range just looks bare without Trog and the two Carnos in their place (even if nothing has actually changed in the line). Maybe we might get a sauropod warbeast? Fingers crossed.
I'm all for more big models! We're getting a teaser of some things to come during Adepticon, right? I hope we don't get overlooked.
I noticed this as well. It concerned me a bit, even though I knew right away that the SC! box was probably the reason (also most reporting the same here). However, I have noticed that there are a lot of "Temporarily out of stock" web exclusive items on the site as well, that have been out of stock for a while now. I think that concerns me more. Most of those are older sculpts too, part of me is hoping for an update, the other part of me doesn't want to believe that since there are other armies/ranges that probably need more of an update than we do. Either way. Its odd, if you switch regions -- those Carnos aren't out of stock, so I wonder if its a Region specific thing as well?
Yup we found out yesterday the shipping container from the UK was delayed. Expect those out of stock models to be back in stock this weekend.
They're still selling them over here in Britain - have a look: https://www.games-workshop.com/en-GB/Seraphon-Saurus-Oldblood-on-Carnosaur
