Making Cold Ones look less dumb.

I saw the Flintstones in Black and White originally — I had no idea Dino...

...was purple.

I wonder if this is why that other Dinosaur (let his name remain unspoken)

...is Purple?

 

My favorite cold one combo is 5th edition cold one riders (metal) + modern Dark elf cold ones.

They where a completely different sculpt,
that's it really.

 

they where a little smaller and the saddles where narrower,
and the where in a much more horizontal pose.

The older riders on the DE cold ones look like they're floating on the cold one, which is one thig I like about the newer riders, they sit lower on thei mount. The stupid arms though, glad you fixed those, it looks so much better!

I found this and it would be sweet, I know a bit different than traditional.

 

I added a 'skin flap' under the jaw to alter the profile, extended the tail, and changed the foreleg positioning to improve mine.

 

Great work here. I think most of us have had just about enough of the cold one sculpt...

Personally I really like the cold ones from Lost kingdom miniatures and other brands aswell as those done with greenstuff/Dark elves.

I *kinda* like the lost kingdoms ones, but the tail still looks wrong to me on them.
I like the dark elf cold ones... but they are too small/slight for saurus to ride them and look right. (I'll do some with skink riders)

Basically I'm a fussy git and nothing is quite right to me. I think I'll finish my conversions, probably sell them. Do the skink riders on the dark elf cold ones... probably sell them. Then be sad and never use saurus Knights in my army.

(Might see if I can get lost kingdoms ones and change the tail, I really want to use Knights. Does mean no Knights at gw journeys though).)

What is the base size you are using? I'm guessing they aren't using the AOS equivalent of cavalry bases anymore?

I thought about making them like a Stygimoloch or GW should bring back Skink Riders on a Stygimoloch and give them a special Charge attack.
