Some work has been done today... first day on a real construction site since two years... feels great to be back... good thing I managed to transform the site enthusiasm later into some painting enthusiasm... here's the result... oh and the special thing here is that I primed white...;)

Bad thing here is that he lost his bola... gonna fix that later... he's just basecoat and wash so far, so he will certainly turn out brighter when finished...

He still has his bola... FIRE FIRE FIRE!!! Also painted the green gems and his scales... and his arm protection...

Three skink heroes... seems like it becomes common, that I strip and repaint older models ...:D

Looking good, as an aside the texture on the wings really stands out too.

The backside of the feathers might be a thing I'll do before assembling the arms...

Assembled the priest... now it's just the staff and the base...
His name is Tsvuku (meaning 'red' in Shona)... Tsvuku - bearer of the black scales... guess it's obvious where I got the idea for his name from...
    20170702_214035.jpg 20170702_214044.jpg
And you see for his staff I just thought: the easier the better... and I think it looks quite fitting... although it's no real serpent staff... but maybe it's some skyserpent's jawbone...

Number two got a base... and is also waiting for the top piece of his serpent staff... someone remembering the sphere with the two cobra heads?... just needs some painting...
    20170702_214316.jpg 20170702_214327.jpg
Some of you may have recognized that this are actually two bases... one was way too flat...

I changed my decision on the leadership of the terradons... the female is the leading mount, so the rider became the unit leader... so he got the last of the helmets I had left... it's the only item that has a little bit of gold on it...
    20170702_214018.jpg
Except for the rocks... there are some golden spikes on the rock...
    20170702_214002.jpg
Hope you like it! And as always feel free to comment right away...

Forgot to mention: the name of number two is going to be mhuka which means beast or animal in Shona...
And the brown terradon will be called Gora (vulture) being the mother of the other two mounts of the flock... her rider's name is mutyairi

Started working on priest number four:
    20170708_002156.jpg 20170708_002206.jpg
The feathers will be light grey up to white... the big one on his head might get a dark grey tip... metal will be gold only...
And did some more on my skink hero:
    20170708_002038.jpg 20170708_002054.jpg 20170708_002113.jpg 20170708_002137.jpg
The skin is darker now and I did a different effect on his scales... Will try to achieve a lava look on his weapons (axe and blowpipe) and shield... think the repaint wasn't a failure... till now...

Progress on the skink hero! ;) highlighted the light belly and the metal parts... crest got shaded and highlighted... and I decided to give him a green/ jade axe instead of the lava look... still have to work on it, the throat and feed... maybe teeth, too...
    20170709_214822.jpg 20170709_214846.jpg 20170709_214915.jpg 20170709_220536.jpg
Tsvuku the bearer of the black scales is sooo close to be finished... mainly the base needs to be done...

And my nephew started to paint his first skink... the white spot on the eye is on purpose...

    No problemo!;)
Just a normal r&f skink and some green stuff... cut off the head (with crest) and the legs underneath the knees... one leg can be reattached in a straight position... then search for something to put the second foot on... I used the skill thing from the temple guard banner... place the second foot on this item a fill gabs with gs... some cutting on neck and head to place the head in a position you like... fill the gaps with gs or Make something to cover it like that cloak I made... if you want to, you can straighten one arm by cutting an glueing... the weapon is from a reaper dark elf... much cutting and glueing here... I think a saurus club or a spear could do the work, too... for his cigar I used a horn I chopped off a temple guard helmet...
Hope this gives you a short overview... if I missed anything or something is not clear just ask... (it's just before my first cup of coffee o'clock in the morning, so might still be a bit too tired to not have missed something more or less important ;):oldman::wacky:

And here something I tried on the base of Tsvuku... not sure if I'm going to leave it like this or make a more lighter grey stone... the ground will be the rocky jungle clearing style as usual... thoughts? Opinions?

Sometimes less is more... white feathers might be one of those cases... don't know if I should satisfied how they look now... Maybe just basecoat wash and drybrushing would look better...
