I am a new player to AOS. I am planning on starting out with the seraphon start collecting set and I'm looking for suggestions for paints. I was thinking along the lines of blue, purple, and red as the main 3 colors for my lizard men and Dinos. I want the colors to be very bright and eye catching. I'm not very familiar with the GW paint colors and am looking for help with the bases, washes, layers and dry paints that will work best for these 3 colors. Any suggestions and help are most welcome! Thank you!

Welcome aboard! You may want to consider Vallejo paints if you want really bright colors. Not that GW doesn't make bright colors, but IMHO Vallejo has a lot more variety. Either way, I recommend you watch Duncan's painting tips on WarhammerTV to get a general idea of basic painting techniques and which color harmonizes with which. If you have a more defined idea of your paint scheme let us know so we can help you. Have lots of fun painting and hobbying!

I was thinking something along the lines of this picture. Although the blue is not quite what I am looking for. I want the blue to look more like "typical" lizardmen/skink color.

So from what I've seen it looks like dry brushing is the way to go, so as to make their scales stand out really well. So this is what I'm thinking so far:
Scales - Naggaroth night, Druchii violet, lucious lilac
Skin - Caledor sky, drakenhof nightshade, Imrik blue
highlights (spinal ridges, headcrests, etc) - Mephiston Red, carroburg crimson, astorath red
bone. teeth etc - Zandri dust, seraphim sepia, ushabti bone
Metals - Leadbelcher, nuln oil, necron compound

any more suggestions? Thank you all for your contributions so far, they were all very helpful!! :)
