    Hello guys and lady-guys,

I'm relatively new to this site but lurked a while before deciding to join.

I've been a big fan of the lizardmen long before they became the Seraphon and have seen various model designs come and go. I've been wondering if the lizardmen player community is expecting a big model update to the lizardmen/seraphon army?

Games Workshop seems to have a revamped version of the classic armies coming out every month or so but uses the current models of Seraphon as their default. Has anyone heard any news or rumours about new Seraphon models? Or is this what we have for the forseeable future of AOS? Some of the current models look quite outdated compared to the new models of other armies.

With Total War Warhammer 2 demonstrating how cool the Lizardmen can really look plus the interest generated by their inclusion in the sequel it seems mad that GW wouldn't jump on that interest and breath new life into the tabletop models.

Sorry for a long first post! Any thoughts or info would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards, Mike

if they had any sense I'd expect new seraphon, skaven and aelf stuff shortly after the TW game goes live. However, given what we've seen I don't actually expect them to do much with the seraphon. The current models are solid enough, actually form an army and we already have everything we "need". Unlike say the various skaven and aelfs that don't even have a book.

Seeing how extensive out changes were in GHB2017 I would not expect anything new in the next 12-18 months.

Skaven don't even have a lorebook yet? Jeez. I find this whole age of sigmar reboot very strange. It's almost like they wanted chaos to win all along and now they get to show off more demons and 'not space marines' to fight them.

Only pestilence has a book, which is rather weird since if you take solely pestilence skaven you can't actually make an army. The only skaven faction that can form an army on its own right now would be skryre, . The others need to make use of other skaven if they want to have acces to anything more significant than a load of cannonfodder and 1 hero (e.g. verminus only has clanrats, stormvermin and a warlord, eshin only has gutterrunners nightrunners and an assasin)

Though skaven isn't the only that have this issue, there's a bunch of factions that are weirdly small and can't possibly function on their own. Skaven however seem to be the only one were some of em have a battletome.

I would love to see a new razordon and Kroxigor model along with a new Dread Saurian

Haha true! GW do seem to lean toward the dark side. Though I really like a lot of the Sylvaneth models and some of the other new monsters and creatures for other races. Also I don't mind new demons as it's nice to have some minions of chaos facing off against your lizardmen in a display case.:D

Agree with the first two but I don't mind the Dread Saurian. Nice if the price lowered but that's probably asking too much :(

Has anyone done any interesting conversions or custom models to fill the gaps/improve the look of their armies? I'd love to see some.

Or perhaps that's a thread for a different forum.

They don't lean to the dark side, they lean towards the space marine side.. or well just generally the big bulky kinda dudes. To be honest that I miss the most in AoS, there isn't a faction hat really has the look and feel of organized soldiers fighting in formation. It's either super humans wildly swinging a giant hammer or a 'horde of small swarming creatures. Only some of the old models like free-guild guard look like they're actually fighting with some kind of organisation.

Take a look at my blog, I have a plastic dino as a Coldone/Carny and another as a Dread Saurian Pg21 and Pg41

But if you look through the Painting and Converting forum there are lots.

They did away  with formations; so the look and feel of formed troops kinda disappeared along with.

Is there any horse-borne cavalry left in the game? They pretty much Nerf-Stomped the Brets. The Stormcasters have monsters if they ride something.

    They seem to hate horses.

Well horses don't have lots of teeth and claws and wings. Personally I'll take raptor mounts over horses any day but it is a shame.

I know, but even so, we still have units and they could be modelled to look at least vaguely like a cohesive disciplined unit... For example stormforged units don't look any more disciplined than say orruks, which is just weird... the only ones I can find that look somewhat disciplined tend to be older models as far as I can tell...

And they don't seem to so much hate horses as much as anything that is vaguely possible in the real world. Everything is monstrous or superhuman. (yea yea, free guilds exists, but until they have a tome or a starting set they don't truly count..)

Dark Aelf, Cold one Knights (not that they are good). Look awesome, not sure what to do with them with the allies changes..

But I also hope they revamp the salamanders and razordons.. together with the Seraphon knights.. we deserve non-hash-stoned-saurus
