Nah. I'm an 8th edition purest. Keep it as it is. I'm also heavily involved with the EEFL (Eighth Edition For Life) forum. Good people there who still play 8th. I don't really care if anyone plays AoS, it's just not the game I want to play. I hate that GW abandoned it though.

I wasn't able to take any pics of the unit last night, but I'll get some up soon. I've been planning on making a light box so that I can get clear pics since the house I recently moved into doesn't have the best lighting for pictures. I'll move it to the top of my list though!

As far as the Confederate Flag deal goes, some people see it as a sign of racial oppression since it was the flag during a time when slavery was legal. Very touchy subject here in the Southern US.

Yes, I am afraid that is true. I remember when KoW and T9A were huge here, but now it seems everybody is drifting towards AoS still. Well, there is a good side to it. In one of my local shops KoW goes with 50% discount. And apparently nobody was still very interested, so I bought most of dwarf, elf, dark elf and goblin sets. )

I am not as devoted, but I shall look at this forum. Thanks for the tip. :)

Any time you feel comfortable. Thank you very much! ) :)

Yes, and by no means I want to sound politically incorrect, but I guess still many people realize that the civil war was not only about slavery. There is quite a number of reasons why southern states wanted to secede.

As long as it's just a model why not? And I guess the rebel flag (once learned that's a synonym for the confederate flag) is less loaded with racist attitude than the old version of the German flag...

Yes, the Civil War was actually about MUCH more than slavery. That was just one thing that was tied to it. Unfortunately, a lot of hate groups tend to wave that flag as well, so it kinda gets a bad name because of the people waving it.

I've lived my whole life in Mississippi and Alabama, so I've always been surrounded by Civil War history but also much Civil Rights history in Birmingham, Alabama. There is a Civil Rights museum there as well as a park that has many very moving statues there that make you think. I also had the opportunity to meet Fred Shuttlesworth before he died. He marched with Martin Luthor King Jr. and was a great man.

Hey, guys. I just wanted to let everyone know that the Kickstarter for Reaper Bones 4 ends in 2 days! It's super cheap for TONS of minis! A pledge of $100 will get you the entire core set. We're talking 159 minis! Just in the core set! It's an awesome deal. You can also select specific models that you'll want by adding their individual costs to your pledge. They have a Dragon Turtle that I'm totally adding to my Lizardman army!

    Check it out guys!

Exactly. I'm going to get the Dark Reach Expansion and use a lot of those mushrooms to make my Fungus Forest. There's a little bit of everything in there!

I've also been assembling this new Skitarii force. I still have a few more Rangers, two more Kastelan Robots and their Datasmith, and one Dragoon.

I haven't totally decided yet, but I don't want to go red. There's already waaaaay to much of that out there. I was thinking of going with a blue as primary and yellow as secondary collors. What do you think? (I don't know all that much about 40K since I'm new to it, this being my first army. Am I doing something wrong not going with a pre-determined color scheme?

blue and yellow is a good match to the 17th century swedish army which traded blows relatively well with Peter 1's russians. Ryza is orange and bone with an emphasis on the plasma weaponry the forgeworld is famous for. I would say no on the not going with a current defined color scheme. this hobby is about expression, and painting your guys your way.

I'll take a look at some of the color combos in the new AB, but I really want something to contrast with the bleak red-dirt bases of Mars. I will be using that on the models' bases. I just want something simple for those. That, and I keep gravitating toward vibrant blues.

Dang Grom gets even fatter when he isn't being pulled by his chariot (mobility scooter)!

Very classic models you have painted, I am impressed with the scars on that dwarf's shoulder, quite the grizzled veteran!

Great job on Grom. He looks really good.

I love that Wood Elf model. That is my favourite model in the entire WE range. Such an awesome sculpt.

Fantastic work on the paint jobs and awesome photography!

Can you show us a picture of the light-box itself? Was it hard to build?
