So, I recently acquired (Found at a garage sale actually, along with an old tenehuini model, which was pretty cool) a old metal coatl model, and though they're regrettably not playable in AoS, I figured that it's pretty cool anyways, and I could probably display it with my lizards if I ever do an Armies on Parade, so I decided to paint it up. That said, I'm pretty torn on what colours I should paint it with. I don't dislike the colouration of the stock image of it, but it doesn't really appeal to me either. So, how would you all suggest I paint it? (I haven't taken any pictures of mine, but I'll give a picture of the model in question that I found on google images) Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
The wings are the focal point on the model you found on google, do you want the wings to be the focal point? The design of the model does lend to multi coloured wings but I would use browns and grey's and then have the body colourful.
I would say that I'll probably want to focus on the wings as the focal point, since they're the most obvious part of the Coatl, and, I imagine, what people are going to look at first, especially if I paint them a bright colour or combination thereof. Insofar as actual colour palette choices for the body, I'm not sure, though I'm leaning towards the skink blue with some green mixed in, since my army's almost entirely skinks. As far as what wing colours I want, I have no idea what would compliment that well, I'm pretty new to painting.
Hm, quite like that idea, actually. Purples and reds would go quite well with the Skink Blue. Thanks for the help!
This is from another painter, but i have same model, and with alternate wings i plan on painting similarly, more like my Avatar pic though.
