There are some decent bases there and I have been looking at similar. But they aren't quite what I'm looking for, so I guess this is just another reason to get better at basing myself :artist:

Another addition to The Tower is ready! I went a different route with the magic fire this time and I'm quite pleased with it. It made painting the fire glare (don't know a proper english word for the light of the fire hitting a surface :sour:) a lot easier. Also this minature gave me an oppertunity to practise painting with a loaded brush and i also snook in an attempt at NMM on the dagger, although you can barely see it not because of the green.

Now if i could just get my stuff together and finish the last three Tzaangors then The Tower villains are all done!

Absolutely love the Orange/yellow bright skinks! Do you have any tips on how you get them so vibrant and rich? Whenever I try and go for an orange or bright look they just end up looking flat and tired.

A couple of picks of the final heroes for the Silver Tower! Wife got to chose the colours for these, and i used the Mistweaver as a practise model for NMM. Have to start somewhere...

With these done i'm free to work more on my sisters and the next WQ box... which I will try to paint a little bit faster. I'll try to get some pics of the results as well.
Also there might appear a new scaly hero for the Silver Tower campaign, if I can muster the inspiration and will to do the model properly. My Lizards deserve some special attention after all.

    Also
I've tried several methods of yellow and as you say it can be tricky to get the yellow vivid and vibrant. I find basing with white and then painting more or less the bightest yellow I have. Then a good wash with GWs Casandora yellow does the trick, and you can touch up with the bright yellow again and yellow+white for the typ highlights.

Make sure the white base covers the model properly. The better the white undercoat the better the yellow colour. Hope it helps!

Thank you alot will definately try that out. I started out by spraying black but have now switched to a white spray and it really helped!

Updates are far in between on this blog but it's better than nothing. I have been busy at work lately so not much time or energy to paint a lot, not to mention I'm trying to get some 40k Sisters done at decent quality without spending too much time on them.

I couldn't resist this litte guy though, my ugly duckling. This is my first and maybe only saurus addition to my Skink army. The background of my army has always been a skink army following a Slann who has gotten abit strange in his (her?) later days. To fit the spirit of the army, this poor saurus actually thinks he is a Skink. He was born/spawned/hatched with a horde of Skinks and has spent his entire life trying to do skink things. This isn't always easy when you're much bigger than everyone else, but he gets terribly mad if you even hit at him not being a normal happy skink.

I spent a bit more time that usual on this model, trying out some new things and practising my NMM. The weapon hand is also magnetized so it can be swapped with the other options, although I havent painted them yet. Along with a new style for "star stone" and a new type of basing, I ended up being quite happy with how he turned out. Could've spent even more time on him, but I have other painting painting projects needing my attention. One thing is for sure, this bad boy will look sexy busting deamons in the Silver Tower!

I've been painting a bit since last time but I am a slow painter and also easily get distracted. Anyways I have moved on to Warhammer Quest 2 with some of the models there. I'm trying to speed up my painting while retaining about the same quality here more than improving quality and techniques. Also I got the classic lizzards ich we all get here every now and then and finished my Kroxigors I had lying in a box somewhere.

Looking at my lizzard collection i realized that I almost have a 2000p AoS army so I might try to muster the discipline and finish that somewhat soon. Anyways here are some heroes and villains from WQ2 and a pair of happy Kroxigors.

Also that you for all the nice comments!

    Nice work!
You chose a pretty light skin tone for those Acolytes there (mine are considerably darker) but they look good.
I also dig the Kroxigor. I prefer mine blue but the red contrasts the gold well, too.
I am not a huge fan of the Lord-Castellant paint scheme (Celestial Vindicators if I am not mistaken), but you get bonus points for the leopard pattern on the Gryph Hound. :)

Very nice, can I comment on each picture, I think so.

Kroxigor, Red and gold go well together very clean painting, I think you could highlight the scales a bit more to break up the red.

Stormcast, Interesting scheme which works well, I like it a lot.

Tzeentch, Nice blend on the robe, maybe darken around the eyes a tad to make them pop.

Aelve, Nice clean job on him, I like him and kudos for doing his eyes.

Acolytes, These look really good but just a couple of things I would try, darken where the gold meets the red/flesh, just run round the edge with a shade, agrax would work but be careful you just want to define the edge.

I can't wait to see your 2k army, well done lovely models ;)
