Anyone know how this stuff stacks up to QuickMold? Seems to be similar stuff. I got QuickMold a few years back for a birthday present but never got around to using it due to my living situation being somewhat cramped at the time.

I heard it is pretty much the same thing as Oyumaru or Blue Stuff. There are even more.

Quoting another forum post somewhere on the Internet:

"There are other craft thermoplastics on the market. Some brand names are Polly Plastics, PolyDoh, PolyMorph, ThermoMorph, Friendly Plastic, and Moldamer"

I've certainly heard of PolyMorph. Just out of interest, what sorts of materials are best for making the moulds you need to cast miniature parts of your own? It certainly appeals to me to be able to make my own minis instead of buying more!

My package of Oyumaru arrived yesterday.
It is just a tiny little amount but it will suffice for some tests. Might be able to try it out in the next few days.

So, ignoring the ethical problems, would it be possible to create a mold for the FW gameday Slann? And how much blue stuff would I need?

I have one, and I need another.....

Cheers @Crowsfoot. If Oyumaru is for the moulds then what could be used for casting the minis themselves?

    I did some tests tonight.
Interesting stuff. Pics soon on my blog.

As material for filling the molds: if it is for terrain you could use clay, air drying clay, and every resin that doesn't become hot when it cures.
If you want to make models: some epoxy putty like green stuff or milliput is probably the best.

Milliput superfine might work, stuff like that, I suspect greenstuff would work.

I need to get some blue stuff and try it soon.

Green stuff works for one part mold you have to really put it in there to make sure you get all the small details. From what I found with practical use when you use blue stuff or the other brands of it's the same material. If you use it to make two part mold you need a really soft and malleable epoxy mix. I would suggest millput or another brand since those are really soft and mix it with green stuff. And be really careful when you're making a two part mold. If you add too much pressure when squeezing both houses together. It can and in many cases it dose (im my experience with it) push the material out the sides of the mold and leave you with cavities or missing details. Causing you to waste valuable material and you need to make sure you're really pressed the blue stuff on the parts you want to duplicate or agaun youll be left with missing details...i have been using it alot and ill make a thing about on my blog soon
