So decided to start a blog to track my progress, which no doubt will be slow, but planning to finish the start collecting box set end of the year. That may sound like a long time to some but feels like a stretch target to me. he is progress so far on the test model for the knights. Just the base and cold one done so far. Not too happy with the skin at the moment, had to put a green glaze on as it first came out to red. Also not sure if the scales are too bright. Need to finish the claws and then start on the knight. Also need to tidy the base at the end.

    C&C always welcome.

Thanks for the kind words all.

@BeardyGecko Yeah i'm still not sure on the bases myself, think it needs something else to make it work, added a green glaze which has helped but still needs some work.

Made some more progress tonight, updates below.

The blue rider contrasts well against the cold one, not sure about a red shield as it may be too "busy" but until you attach it hard to tell.

Good looking model so far ;)

    Thanks for the comments

@Crowsfoot it was something I was worried about but feel it works out ok, planning to use the red as the consistent in the army.

@Aginor they normally don't come out well but these ones were ok.

Here's the result when finished. Happy with how it came out in the end just need to speed up the painting!

What are the bright red letters on the base for?

The shield looks good attached, maybe go for a darker grey on the base that would add some contrast to the cold one and it would bring out the letters and green slime, just a thought.

    Great looking model ;)

@pendrake when i first did the base it looked a little bland so i tried to pick out some of the details with some colour, they are not letters just patterns though it does look like i have painted an 'M' on the base. I'll not add it to the next one i do and see if they work better with or without.

@Crowsfoot thanks, I'll try the darker grey, still not 100% on the base so going to try a few different things for the next one

I think if you get it darker it will frame the cold one better, it just looks a little bland at the moment, the cold ones feet are placed so that a darker colour under foot will help him stand out, you could even go dark brown, highlighted with karak stone then screaming skull, that would add a warmer tone than grey.
