Came 7th overall this year in the 2017 tournament season and qualified for the UK masters. Looking at continuing to use Seraphon. I could use my Blood and Glory list that included the Celestant-Prime or this..

    Lord Kroak (450)
    - General
    Saurus Astrolith Bearer (160)
    - Artefact: Incandescent Rectrices
    Skink Starpriest (80)
    - Artefact: Light of Dracothion
    40 x Skinks (200)
    - Boltspitters & Moonstone Clubs
    40 x Skinks (200)
    - Boltspitters & Moonstone Clubs
    10 x Skinks (60)
    - Boltspitters & Star Bucklers
    6 x Ripperdactyl Riders (280)
    Shadowstrike Starhost (170)
    Balewind Vortex (100)

    Reinforcement Points (300)

    Total: 2000 / 2000
    Allies: 0 / 400
    Wounds: 128

I lose the Prime but also lose a drop, reduced to 4. Gain 60 Skinks and the ability to summon an extra Astrolith, making Kroak more consistent. Summoning him near the 80 Shadowstrike moved Skinks combined with the Starpriest's stare should kick out some pain as well.

    Thoughts between the two?

I think the Celestant Prime list sounds more scary because people will freak out as they have to decide between killing him or Kroak and may make mistakes splitting their forces.
It also deals more mortal wounds I guess.

The list above has more wounds on the table but it is more conservative, pretty much what people expect from a Seraphon list right now.
The possibility of an Astrolith Bearer more teleporting around with the troops (or being summoned) is threatening though since it makes all of our units a lot better.
And holy shit that's a lot of Skinks for the enemy to chew through. Might be more effective against mortal wounds spammers...
You also might summon a Skink Priest for the save buff if the enemy has shooting.
300 is a lot of reinforcement points you could use. Even a Bastiladon might work. People hate those being dropped onto objectives...

EDIT: Or Razordons! Those are very scary combined with the Astrolith Bearer against soft targets!

Being a Seraphon fan I would go for the latter I think. Who needs that Hammer Jesus guy anyway? :D

With no prime I worry Kroak is the only target for deep strike units but if you shield him right and get the astrolith bearer in to make him more consistent that is one hell of a list, no one is going to enjoy that many skinks and they could do well softening up targets and grabbing objectives.

Celestial Prime is indeed a big threat and my first thought was to go with it.
However, the less 1 drop is extremely important as it can end up saving you the choice of picking to go 1st or 2nd which is huge at most scenarios + those extra skinks, buffed by an astrolith could severely hurt the 5+ Skyfires for example as their save is nothing good and the attacks with all hit rerolling and wounds 1 will pass quite the wounds in the end.
The bodies could also work in your favor - blocking huge things coming your way like ships or other major threats. A big wall indeed.

I'd go with the 2nd one.

Yep. Against inexperienced players the shock of facing Kroak and the C.Prime will probably be worth it, but since you are going to a Masters tournament your opponents probably won't freak out that much.

Nice list! It will be easier to take and hold objective points.
But I vote for the Prime list, I am always affraid of big beasts like the Stardrake or Treelord of any type or Dragon. I think the Prime give you an easy way to get rid of these guys.

I am not even sure @darren watson owns enough Saurus to make it worth, he seems to be a Skink fan. :D
Also I think it is hard to combine it with Kroak which is our most threatening - and thus most competitive - unit.

Knights are better than their reputation, I can understand that!
Of course they have failed miserably for me in the past, but I remember at least one game in which a minimum Firelance (5+5+5 Knights) with a little help by a Carnosaur completely demolished an Ironjawz army, having my opponent give up in turn two. So they CAN be quite effective. I am looking forward to seeing what darren comes up with.
