Quick FYI on the title. It's not a poke, or jibe at anyone except one individual. <- This lazy ass on the left with that savage looking Nakai head on brass wire that he hasn't done anything with since he first posted it. Going to admit, this is by far my biggest weakness, thinking I have time, a weekend comes and I tell myself, I can play on skyrim for a few hours first, or do this, or do that, or *insert numerous procrastinating, time-wasting options here* This will follow the trend of being a semi blog/occasional tutorial thread, but I'll update my original sticky on the how to's as well. Video wise...urgh....I loath what google have done to youtube, I can't remember my password which makes it all but impossible to log back in (and despite setting up my email as my recovery base for reset passwords, google says no...) Looking forward: With all that said, I'm going with the old tried and tested mantra of "Finish what you started", not too much of a problem as I can instantly think of 4 Lizard related pieces that fit that bill on that one. No plans on a set order, I will simply dive in like a wounded bull and see what happens.
You are one of the most talented Lizards on this forum, but no one is a match for the awesome addictive powers of Skyrim. I look forward to seeing it.
Skyrim is such a good game. I got it for the switch and I'm kinda scared what it will do to my productivity. Looking forward to seeing your new sculpts though!
Thanks, it was modding more so than anything else, but when the steam pop up opened recently and I saw the total number of hours played...I had a bit of a rude awakening.
"Rikard, Jan 1, 2018"… so tell me, @Rikard … Is it just me or someone's been making some serious new year's resolutions lately?
I would say yes, but why try to fix what ain't broke? :B I'd say more a case of stagnation, work, mental drain, putting off the fun stuff. A vicious cycle and a downward spiral. I've been working on the shield already, no photos yet, I want to build up a sizable collection so more progress can be seen.
Quick FYI here, I have a new phone (this is big news as my last one cost the princely sum of £25 and this one was just over £500), BUT, it's actually really good with close up photos, so I've been dabbling with it for taking photos of the shield I'm doing. I'll be making a small article on this in order to explain my approach for "carving out of" rather than "building over" a solid shape, including pros and cons. Along with this I'll have another go at making an article to explain my thought process with sculpting anything (they make a shape, add another shape, etc until you have a model, a bit like those "How to draw" books where a T-rex starts off as an egg shape). And finally.... Not sure if he's around, I know he's been a busy person, but big congratulations to @woogity I didn't realize he designed a lot of the Lizardmen in Total War Warhammer 2.
Total Warhammer Lizardmen are awesome but sadly the official ones are lacking (looking at you saurus and cold ones). I'm fairly new to Warhammer Fantasy (it's not dead!) but TWW2 and Rikard here got me really interested in Lizardmen! Now I'm doing the same and get my lazy ass off the couch to sculpt and paint something awesome
And here we go again... A friend of mine from the local gaming club was trying to convert the original model to have the mouth open, but quickly realized he'd have to completely cut away a great deal more of the model than just the cheeks. I completely cut away the throat and re-sculpted it from scratch. There's still a bit of work ahead, nothing massive though, mainly teeth and a large tongue, but wouldn't be surprised if some scales make an appearance.
