So I want to run kroaknado, I don't have a few models that would make it optimized which is fine because its a more casual game anyway, but I don't know where to go with it. What I have is: Kroak Slann Starseer Astrolith Bearer( Technically 2, have a skink conversion) SV on Foot 2x Skink Priest(1 trappings, 1 feathers) 2x Skink Starpriests SV on CarnoSaur SV on Cold One Engine of the Gods Troglodon 2 Bastilodons 15x Temple Guard 24x Saurus Warriors 15x Saurus Knights 3x Ripperdactyls Close to 100 skinks 6x Kroxigor 10x Chameleon Skinks Any suggestions is awesome even if its just a core to build off of. Normally I run skinkly armies but I wanted to mix it up and I haven't given Kroak any love in a long time. Thanks
Hey, I know a few people are running Thunderkroak lists at the minute. You'll have some issues with hero and model count in some objectives but it really packs a punch and if you ever get the EOTG extra turn Kroak and the bastiladons will cut through people.
I actually forgot about the Astrolith bearer, I have 2 technically, 1 is a Skink conversion. It looks fun to play with all the monsters and thats all I really care about. I by no means preparing for any tournaments right now lol.
Yeah against anything that's going to try table you turn 1 you'll have a rough time. I would suggest try get Kroak behind or in a big piece of scenery so he's not gone before he gets to roll a single dice. Use the Thunderquake as savage and set the astrolith within 10" of the bastiladons for rerolling hits/wounds and saves. Try focus down any shooting or MW they have and then teleport Kroak up beside the engine and get him up on the balewind. Will let you roll the 4 dice for the engines table and give everything within 10" of kroak from thunderquake D3 healing in your hero phase. So your bastiladons aren't leaving the table.
Currently I play againt Ironjawz and Skaven mostly so with proper set the only threat I see myself having is Skaven artillery killing of Kroak turn 1, However I could see getting swarmed a problem from both.
I think against Ironjawz you should play Guards because those can really take the pounding. Kroak is....cheesy against Ironjawz because he is almost certainly a win. They just don't have anything except a Maw-Krusha or a really lucky Shaman to kill him at all. Kill those with a Shadowstrike or so and you are done.
Against Ironjaws, if you do really want to bring Kroak keep him off the balewind and give them a chance at least to get to him. Try bubble wrap him with the skinks so he atleast gets a few spells off for you to have fun, but against all melee putting him up out of reach isn't fun for them to go against. Or drop him entirely and make some of the skink units 40 blocks and just have a blood bath and bit of a laugh. Unless he's that guy in your gaming group and you need revenge
Honestly forgot about the guard, usually pretty lack luster for me especially since I can't run the battalion for them. Skink lists are what I usually run, especially against the Ironjawz guy cause I play him the most I believe. Just trying to mix it up, but didn't consider the fact that especially his stuff is pretty much no shooting. He's got a Maw Krusha, like 6 gore gruntas, and idk about the rest, honestly not as savvy with the ironjawz as I should be with how often I play them. And i mean he's border line that guy cause I've gotten tabled by him pretty quick some games lol.
I am going to have to borrow this list. We just started a campaign at my store and I am having trouble finding a good list
Well they kind of suck outside the battalion, and are basicly godlike in the battalion.. So yeah, get the battalion already No harm in wiping the floor with him once then
I ran this list tosay and oh man was it fun, and i won quite handedly. My opponent threw the white flag at the bottom of the 2nd round after i killed 75% of his army
