I'm considering a trip to Warhammer World and wondered if anyone had been recently and thinks it's worth the trip? I live in Gloucestershire, so it's only a couple of hours away. Its been on my list of things to do since I was about 16 (a couple of years ago....) and thought it would be cool to drink a beer in Bugmans Bar then look at all the dioramas. Yay or nay?
Book a table and make a day of it, game in the morning go have lunch and a beer then browse the displays and shop. It’s well worth a visit even if you can’t game, when we went there was loads of games going on so we just watched and the players would talk to you and explain what there army was, yeah good day out.
I went on holiday to Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire with the intent on going to Warhammer World and it didn't disappoint! The whole atmosphere was brilliant, even though it was too far to bring my stuff, and the chaps there, as always with GW staff, were really friendly and helpful and let us play with their Island of Blood set and let us paint a Lothern Sea Guard each, although this was a good few years ago back in the glorious days of fantasy. Nevertheless, I imagine it's still great there.
Also just noticed you said you live in Gloucestershire - what's up neighbour! Do you game anywhere in particular?
I am just building and painting at the moment, although the fact that I'm selecting my models based on Army lists is probably a subliminal self prompt? I keep floating around GW in Gloucester waiting for the right moment.............my time will come!
Well if you fancy a game at some point just let me know, I've not played in the Gloucester store but I'm sure they'd oblige and give us a table!
