Hi I've recenty bought a stegadon set and decided to assemble it with skytreak bow. But after the gw faq and EotG rework i felt really confused. Now the EotG is much more useful, but the chance to roll 18 without slann is really low(~0,5%) and even skink starpriest help only a bit(~8% chance). In my army I have: Saurus oldblood on carno Saurus scar veteran on cold one 10 saurus warriors 5 saurus knights 20 skinks Saurus astrolith bearer Skink starpriest Skink priest Is it worth to assemble stegadon as engine or i should use skytreak for my army? Thanks for help.
For what you have I would run Stegadon with skystreak. Personally I feel that running EotG without proper support is just sub-par and unreliable. Not to mention that you don't have anything to snipe or really handle big blocks the stegadon can do both to a degree. If you plan to expand your list though I would look at more warriors for sure. 10 won't do anything but be a slight speed bump for most units.
Thanks for your reply. You are right. I will build my stegadon with skytreak and glue down the eotg priest to 25mm base to have second priest model. I'll also use eotg ring for some conversions or maybe a piece of terrain. Probably i will expand my army with unit of 40 warriors with spears. I've got 10 now because of start collecting.
You can even make the Steggy convertible between all versions! I did that, and I am happy with it. But I agree, I would go for the Bow Steggy first. It fits into many lists.
