    Sooo... it is almost here.
I am going to try and get my Deathrattle force a bit streamlined with the new book.
Who else is going to get it?

I looked through a few blurry leaked pages, and WOW.
There is a new trait for one of the legions which allows to add ANOTHER attack to Deathrattle units.
I almost fell from my chair when I read it.

Right now I run a Deathrattle force with a lot of Skellies and Black Knights, two Necromancers and a Wight King (with Standard) as General. As Allegiance I use Death because I have a VLoZD as a hard hitter.

Now if I got that correctly it looks like this in the future:

    - 40 Skellies have 120 attacks
    - Wight King adds another 40 --> 160 attacks
    - Trait adds another???? --> 200 attacks?

And then Danse Macabre to make that 400 attacks at 2"/4+/4+/-/1

Ok, ok. They will not all be a in combat, but I have seen 25-30 of a 40-Skelly unit get into melee.

Even Black Knights get scary, with their new warscroll (they get one more lance attack) and those buffs stacked you get four attacks from each lance.

With Skellies getting faster (a spell IIRC or something with those gravesites) and more resilient (the reworked regeneration) I might even drop the VLoZD and run pure Deathrattle, and let my opponents DROWN IN BONES.

I am not a tournament player so it might not ever become the most competitive list but hey, MUCH better than now and I am winning more than I lose already, especially against Elite armies that lack anti-horde stuff.

....I feel bad for my Seraphon, Death looks SO promising now.

Deathrattle rules. I like hordes of Skeletons.
Ghosts are OK, too, but Skeletons are just iconic.

Agree. Already have ten of them primed and ready for painting as soon as my current Seraphon projects are finished.

That's also the box I got. Good value IMO.

My Death army right now from the top of my head:

    - Wight King
    - Wight King (still in the box)
    - Wight King with Axe
    - 2x Necromancer
    - 2x Morghast (still in the box)
    - 80 Skeletons (40x Mantic, 30x GW, 10 kitbashed) and another 10 kitbashed soon.
    - 5x Black Knights (another 5 WIP, only some base colors on them already)
    - 10x Skeleton Guards (primed)
    - 3x Spirit Hosts
    - Vampire Lord on Zombie Dragon, convertible to Ghoul King on Terrorgheist or ZD, all possible variants actually.
    - Abhorrant Ghoul King on foot

I'm still planning a pure ghostly ghost army with Spirit Hosts, Cairn wraiths / banshees and Mournguls - but the new battletome will also require some other bits and pieces for making use of the new shinies... So probably end up with a much bigger Death army than originally planned.

It's the way of the wargamer...

Anyway, here's my 1k point list:

    1x Mourngul
    12x Spirit Hosts

Then a few points left over for a hero of some variety, depending on who I like in the new book. Might drop to 9 Spirit Hosts to make space for Banshees!

Then the 2k version of that list is whatever the 1k point version is, but doubled!

I call it the friend maker.

Think I'm going the same route, the ghost theme is a winner for a few reasons, fast to paint, looks fantastic and reminds me of LOTR

Has the Mourngul got an updated Warscroll or is it still the same beast as before?

It's the same as before, currently. It's not in the book so couldn't say - I presume if it's changing it will tomorrow. As it stands no change.

That is a good price. If I go the skeleton route they're being painted as ghosts, anyway. Unless its a centerpiece model all my Death stuff is going to be ghostly...

Unless it's vampires. Then I will make some effort.

Painting the Skeletons as Ghosts is a good idea for a cool and fluffy looking Ghost army.
    Basically Hexwraiths on foot, painting-wise.
