So, first off I started building Seraphon because I had a Dinosaur EDH deck and I like to have consistency lol. Eventually I’ll post some of the finished pics since most of my army is already done, but I’m waiting on the basing. Until then I’m working on a Dread Saurian that my best friend bought for my birthday. I let him pick the color scheme so I’m attempting a lavasaur and could def use some help. I am a bit wary of the yellow even though I know it’s necessary lol. I just finished ringing everything and red and am working on blending in some orange
To me the pose looks like a giant rat. Also the spikes on the back are too long and the head is too big for the body. Otherwise it looks pretty great though. The head itself is the best part.
Ok, that makes a little more sense now. Honestly I'd bling it out a bit more and have some lizardmen on it's back
I actually just took airman blue and diluted it significantly with water and went over the edges I thought were appropriate. Thanks for the positive feedback guys!
I was actually planning on doing this! I’ve got one unit of each battalion that is lava colored to indicate elite units so I may stick some of the extra on his back
So many mistakes and I have to clean up around the edges, but I’m glad I got some of the kinks out on the foot soldiers. I’m dreading working on any of the heroes least the water effect goes poorly and my models are ruined
The colors look great, and I really like what you have done with the bases! What colors did you use to get the sand color, if any? And what water effects do you use?
@Warden Thank you! For the sand I used Americana acrylic from Micheals and the shade is fawn. As for the water effect it’s Woodland Scenics “Realistic Water” which I applied with small drops to control coverage on the base. The foam was Vallejo water texture. I highly recommend getting Woodland Scenics “Water Effects” as well I just tried it out on the bases for my Knights and it’s basically a thick paint that drys clear and can give you some really nice subtle ripple and wave effects.
Looks great! I've tried to go for a similar effect of having my models walking out of water, although I think you've pulled it off far better than me! I just glued actual sand from the beach for my sand, and painted the base blue, coated it with a ton of varnish and used a bit of modelling paste for the water
Nice, I have used the same stuff. Only issue I have noticed is that the leftovers still in the bottle have lost most of their effectiveness after a few years of storage... might be time to buy more soon.
