Howdy all, Just started dabbling in AOS after not playing any fantasy since 5th WHFB and need some help with piecing together a good 1K list from 2 start collecting boxes. I have done some searching on the site so far and many lists that have been posted have other models than just the 2 start collecting boxes. My play will be mostly casual as I try to get used to rules, etc. against a friend of mine who has a multitude of armies. And thank you for the resources and upbeat attitude here on the forum. As a member of other forums for my other hobbies, it is a breath of fresh air to not have negativity thrown everywhere.
I recommend checking out @Crowsfoot 's guide to the Start Collecting Box, as it will help you to get more value out of it. Here is the link: http://lustria-online.com/threads/getting-the-most-from-your-start-collecting-seraphon-box.20560/
I've read that, and it has some great info. I'm just trying to figure out what to field at 1000 points out of those units.
at work no books for points, but maybe OB on carno, SV on carno, SV on cold one, 2x 10 warriors Blood claw? will be close on points also dont know the changes yet for 2.0 but I think its OB carno 280 SV carno 240 SV cold one 100 10x warrior 100 10x warrior 100 Blood claw 200 so yeah 1020 if I have the points right... but I think blood claw is dropping to 150 and i know OB on carno is dropping to 260
Bloodclaw would require another Saurus hero that isn't an Astrolith bearer, and another unit of Saurus warriors, Knights, or Guard. It's not really doable at 1k.
Firelance Starhost: (110) Scar-Vet on Cold One (General, Thickly Scaled Hide, Incandescent Rectrices) - 100 Saurus Knights - 100 Saurus Knights - 100 Saurus Knights - 100 Scar-Vet on Carnosaur (Coronal Shield) - 240 Scar-Vet on Carnosaur - 240 Total - 990 It's not going to win any tournaments but it will look dope on the table and will be fun in a casual setting. If you're playing against a friend, just remind him that you're only a beginner and tabling you with his cheesiest army isn't going to teach you a lot!
but knights are dropping to 90...so that actually comes to exactly 1K! I retract my "only problem" statement
