Hello all! Wanted to simply say "hi", as I'm going to be adding Lizardmen as my 2019 army. In case you're unfamiliar, I post regular 8th edition reports over at www.livewaaaaagh.com , though my main army is Dwarfs. We also feature Tomb Kings, Wood Elves and some High Elves. However, Lizardmen will become my personal 2nd army in 2019, so I hope to post a lot of reports in the coming year.

Sad to hear it. Tomb Kings have become such a rarity these days.

I love the TKs - I just live in NYC and space is a luxury. Both high Elves & TKs are going, and Lizardmen are coming in. So future reports after the new year ar elikely to feature Dwarfs, Lizardmen and Woodies (tree-based mostly, as opposed to avoidance).

That's still a good trio of armies!

On the plus side, Tomb Kings armies are worth quite a bit these days, so hopefully you were able to get good value out of them.

Absolutely! I'm not getting that much $$ b/c he's a friend, and I'm more about space and the ability to start a new army than $$. Luckily, he had some NoS, or NiB Lizardmen, so it'sa bit fo a trade + some money.

Good to see Lustria is alive with 8th edition. for the record, I mostly post over on the EEFL forums, but I'll be passing my here as well! :)

I’ve just had a look at your blog and I love your Fantasy games - I really enjoy seeing battles between smaller armies around 1000-2000 points duke it out because those are the scales of games I play. I especially like the battles because all the armies seem to use really thematic lists, again like my own armies, rather than having ultra-competitive, game-breaking rosters - the elite armies have smaller regiments of proud heroes while the rabble armies use large undisciplined masses of troops to make use of safety in numbers. That for me is what Warhammer Fantasy is all about.

Hey sir! thank you! that really means a lot! I've been lucky that my WHFB groups have mostly followed the "fun, yet competitive" approach to the game. We don't field terrible units, but try to limit any OP combo and aim for more themed lists. Hope to have more more battle in the New Year. I'm traveling now and through the end of the year, but more to come!

Decided to keep the TKs. But they'll be moving down to where my family lives (I get to visit them for about 1-2 months total every year), so I'm hoping to get some games over there while I'm visiting. So not as frequent Battle Reports with them but hope to continue in the new Year.

The High Elves are being sold though, instead.

That is awesome, a very good choice.

Tomb Kings are a rarity now. If you were to sell them, they would be difficult (and/or costly) to reacquire.

Glad to hear that you decided to keep the TK. Such a beautiful and unique army.

That’s what I like to see - Warhammer’s a game for having fun with your friends and creating thematic armies you can base a story around, not for metabuilding unless you are one of those people obsessed with winning who brags about their victories all the time, which none of us are (as far as I have seen).

That’s great news! That’s actually a pretty good idea - having some of your armies over your family’s house means you save space in your own house yet still can keep them, and it also means you will still be able to play Warhammer even when you’re over there!

It’s a shame you have to sell any of your armies because you’ve chosen all the most awesome armies in the whole game to collect, at least in my view.
