Indeed - I love the stuff they’ve just previewed and am really looking forward to see what else they come up with!
According to the designers in today’s Gloomspite post on Warhammer Community, there will be plenty of spare bits on the sprues of the kits like with Idoneth, so I imagine they’ll come with spare mushrooms aplenty!
It includes Spiderfang Grots. That's enough to me to be satisfied. All those goblins and various beasts promise to be a threatening force. I'm SO glad to see those little pests again on the battlefield… that's the only destruction army I would ever play.
I was briefly interested in Ironjawz as a potential AoS Destruction army as I already have 20 Black Orcs/Ardboyz, but now that Gooomspite Gitz have come in, I’ve changed my mind for the following reasons: 1. I have more Night Goblins than Black Orcs already 2. Gore-Gruntas are at a ridiculous price and I’m hoping the vast majority of Gloomspite models will be costed at a good deal less than £50 - certainly I can see the kits released already will be a good deal less, except perhaps that Loonshrine and the Endless Spells (although I’ve already got a mini Loonshrine already so hopefully I won’t need one) 3. Even though Gloomspite Gitz will be individually weaker, they’ll still be hugely more powerful in-game than Ironjawz are at the moment due to Ironjawz being hit very hard by powercreep 4. Night Goblins are funnier and more entertaining than Black Orcs in my opinion
Blimey you’re actually following a largely AoS thread (Don’t worry I’m joking. I imagine you’re here because of the awesome models and the usability of a large number of them in Fantasy )
Bingo! I still maintain that GW makes the best models in the world. AoS models have been outstanding (with the exception of SCE) in my opinion. I am a big fan of most of them.
I don't consider AoS to be the darkside, (for me) it is more akin to Jar Jar, Ewoks, L3-37 or Rose Tico.
Okay, I understand Jar Jar, and the others, but Ewoks? They only ever hurt droids, the small scouting rebellion force, & Stormtroopers.
The main reason why I certainly find Ewoks to be worse than Jar Jar, L3 or even Rose is because so,ehow they’re able to defeat more-or-less disciplined soldiers over 20,000 years more advanced than they are with stone axes, logs and flint bows and arrows purely because the film’s plot says so. It’s ridiculous escapist trash.
Ewoks are the worst part of episode VI, which is a fantastic movie otherwise. As @Lord Agragax of Lunaxoatl described, the Ewoks defeating the Stormtroopers made no sense at all. Contrast that with the excellent Luke-Vader-Sidious portion of the ending and the Ewoks end up taking away from the film as a whole. Interestingly enough, originally Lucas had the Empire fighting Wookies instead of the Ewoks; I definitely would have preferred that. Back on topic, those new trolls are looking mighty fine. GW continues to stay ahead of the curve.
I can respect that. Insurgent armies have beaten superior forces throughout history though. Also, Walkers are obviously a bad choice for a heavily forested theater of war.
To a certain degree. The disparity was simply too great. Rocks, arrows and sticks vs. blasters, formalized military training, armour, and walking tanks. It would be like the USA military going back several thousand years and getting their butts handed to them by cavemen.
