What made you choose the Oldblood over the Sunblood? For the point cost, Sunblood has always been what I lean towards.

I proxied an Oldblood, however I could chop off its hand and replace it with a mace.
It might actually make more sense, thanks for the idea

Actually better idea for Oldblood on carno. Seeing as massive monsters won’t be as common, perhaps a gryph feather carom and thickly scales hide might be better.

I specifically meant the on-foot Heroes. The Oldblood on-foot isn't a great hero...

Yeah I knew what you meant. I orig built the thing for fun but it might be worth converting the Oldblood on foot to a sunblood.

Another suggestion might be to change up the list to bring in a Starpriest to give you a cast & unbind/dispell. Right now, you could be pretty susceptible to any magic.

It might be good to know what models/units you have at your disposal for additional suggestions.

I do luckily have a skink starpriest. I currently have a saurus oldblood on carnosaur, a saurus oldblood, a skink starpriest, 12 warriors, and 8 knights. Come spring break I will have an additional 12 warriors, a scar vet on carnosaur, a troglodon, 4 more celestial swarms, 7 more knights and a scar vet on cold one.

    I like my lizards.

Ah, ok. Looks like a Start Collecting! box ;) Get some Razordons (and ALL THE SKINKS) when you can. Do you happen to have a ScarVet on Cold One proxied? Also, it appears you will be allowed to proxy, so consider proxying the Oldblood on Carno as a ScarVet on Carno. Otherwise, if you did take the Oldblood on Carno with a Starpriest, you effectively lose it's CA. Here's two suggestions:

    NON-PROXY LIST:
    Allegiance: Seraphon
    Mortal Realm: Ghyran

    Leaders
    Saurus Oldblood on Carnosaur (260)
    Saurus Sunblood (120)
    - General
    - Trait: Disciplined Fury
    - Artefact: Ghyrstrike

    Battleline
    10 x Saurus Warriors (100)
    - Clubs

    Total: 480 / 500
    Extra Command Points: 0
    Allies: 0 / 200
    Wounds: 29

This list is pretty similar to yours, but focuses on the Sunblood's Ferocious Rage + Ghyrstrike, dropping the hit and wound roll to 5+, instead of 6+. Pair that with the Oldblood's Ancient Warlord CA and the Sunblood can be an absolute wrecking ball. Warriors are there to screen the Sunblood until it can get into battle and the Oldblood on Carno can provide some ranged damage, along with all it's other melee.

    PROXY LIST:
    Allegiance: Seraphon
    Mortal Realm: Ghyran

    Leaders
Saurus Scar-Veteran on Carnosaur (240) (PROXY)
    - Greatblade
    - Artefact: Ghyrstrike

    Skink Starpriest (80)
    - General
    - Trait: Master of Star Rituals

    Battleline
    5 x Saurus Knights (90)
    - Lances
    5 x Saurus Guard (90) (PROXY)

    Total: 500 / 500
    Extra Command Points: 0
    Allies: 0 / 200
    Wounds: 31

This list focuses on using the Starpriest to buff the ScarVet on Carno with Celestial Rites (from Master of Star Rituals), Summon Starlight, and Serpent staff. Assuming good rolls, you'll have a ScarVet on Carno with a Greatblade hitting on 3+, wounds on 2+, -1 Rend; -1 to be hit; Re-rolls run, charge, and save rolls; AND has a potential for 2x damage on Fearsome Jaws & Carnosaur's Massive Jaws. Again, use the Knights to help screen the Carno and keep your Starpriest screened with Gaurd.

Thanks for the lists! I definetly will run a few tests with it as I have a strong attachment to my oldblood on carnosaur (first seraphon model) but the list you suggest looks pretty cool, and definitely is worth trying out:)

    You have no skinks?
Because you could try something like this:

    Saurus oldblood on carno (260)
    Skink starpriest (80)
    5 Saurus knights (90)
    10 skinks (60)

the oldblood, buffed by the starpriest (serpent staff and starlight), is you damage dealer; Starlight and gryph feather will impose a -2 (both shooting and cac)
knights escort the carnosaur, giving screen plus additional fighting power
    starpriest buffs and dispels
skinks run for obj and offer some (pathetical) shooting

@Killer Angel Based on his reply, I don't think he's bought Skinks yet. Also, I highly doubt there will be an objective at 500 points, though you might get lucky with the shooting.

I sadly have no skinks yet. However I am slowly saving for some, but they are a side priority to building up an infantry core. I don’t know about the objectives, but currently I believe we don’t have any.

Then go for the second list posted by @Wilhelm Stürmer
It's up to you to choose what artefact give to the ScarVet . ;)

Well then, I will definetly give that a try. I will need to figure out how to proxy guards but I can stick a shield onto my Oldblood on carno (probably will be removed later) and call it a scar vet. The battle will not be for a whole (bit less than 2 weeks) but that gives me plenty of time to proxy some temple guard :D

Yeah, they all got shields. However the kit comes with a bunch spare meaning I can pretty easily slap one on.

Progress update: the Oldblood has had a few bits and bobs clipped and re attached. It’s been repainted and now can pass for a sunblood. Thanks for recommending the sunblood over the Oldblood, I tested the Oldblood and it was kinda meh.
