We make a lot of cultural references, memes and jokes here. That's great. But if it's a spoiler for something recently released, mark it as a spoiler. Use some common sense. You don't have to put a spoiler tag on the ending to the A Sixth Sense because that came out in the 90s but be very careful with spoilers for Game of Thrones and Avengers please. Do not make me invasively moderate your posts. I don't want to be a jerk about it, but we have spoiler tags for a reason. If something is political make the thread title as such. Please limit political discussions and controversial social commentary to threads that are designated as being controversial.
I need all Game of Thrones material spoilered. Never seen a bit of it. Or read the books... ...there are books? Correct?
As Game of Thrones television show progressed the show intially follows the books very closely than it began to diverge a fair bit. George R. Martin is actually pretty blase about people changing his stuff. He does meddle as much as Rowling does with film adaptations. Also, he is a very slow writer, the television show has overtaken his books in narrative, they might not end the same. There are no hard and fast rules only guidelines. If you think maybe something needs a spoiler, use a spoiler. As for Game of Thrones, people, including Skink zombies, get especially upset over those spoilers. Generally, non-episodic TV shows, spoilers are a bigger deal than with movies.
Fair enough! And how do you feel about spoilered threads (where the existence of spoilers is clearly marked in the thread title)? For use in instances where the entire thread would be composed of posts containing spoilers. For example, when Game of Thrones finishes, it would be easier to mark the entire thread as a spoiler zone rather than marking each and every post as a spoiler. Something along the lines of a thread entitled: "Game of Thrones analysis and discussion [SPOILERS]". The same would apply to a thread discussing the events of Endgame, etc.
Either is fine, but even if the thread is marked as a spoiler you might want to put the really juicy stuff in a spoiler tag anyway. Spoiler: Rey's secret origin to be revealed in Star Wars Episode Nine She's not technically a Skywalker but she is the granddaughter of an illegimate love child between Padme and Jar Jar.

I am sad that I have to do this. I want to be able to discuss controversial social issues on Lustria-Online. Use these guidelines for discussing controversial ideas. 1-Politics and social commentary should ONLY be in the General Chat forum. To bring it up elsewhere is trolling. 2-Politics and social commenatary should ONLY be in threads that are marked for such discussions. To bring it up elsewhere is trolling. 3-If you don't like something, attack the person's ideas, not the person. If these three guidelines are too much, we, the staff of L-O, may have to be more draconian with our moderatation powers banning people and declaring topics off limits. I do not want to have to do that!
What with the new release of Disney+ and the impending Star Wars Episode IX I would just like to reiterate this with regards to spoilers. I will likely be in hospital for Episode IX’s release and so will be unlikely to be able to see it while it’s in cinemas. Meanwhile, Disney+ will not be available in the UK until April, meaning that the new Star Wars The Clone Wars Episodes (which I am particularly excited about) will probably be unavailable to me on release. I would greatly appreciate if neither of these things were spoilt for me before I watch them, so if people could mark their spoilers for such it would be greatly appreciated! However, the previous track record for this on the forum has been fantastic, so I have faith that this message will be wholly unnecessary, and hope whoever does get to see these things (and anything else that could be a cause of spoilers for anyone) enjoys them!
Yep, everything is fine so far, but it should go without saying that stuff like The Mandalorian or the new Star Wars movie should be in spoiler tags for at least six months, because it will be hard for some people to watch them.
It hasn't been two months yet, but I'm officially saying it's okay to say ANYTHING about Last of Us or Last of Us 2 without spoiler tags.
