Never posted before, but wanted to see what people thought. Have been working on some kroxigor sculpts as I'm not really a fan of the current models, and I finally managed to get one painted the other day.
Now that's a first post! Welcome to Lustria! I like your model, especially the face. Not too crocodile-like but different enough from the other Sauri. If I had to criticize one thing it would be the scales on the shoulders. They are a bit too square for my taste, I actually thought he wears some sort of gambeson for a moment (in the frontal picture).
Hi, thanks a lot! Yeah I agree, the shoulders are my least favourite part for sure, even overlapping the scales would have helped a lot. I'm going to have at least one variant body, so I think I'll try and resculpt the shoulders into either ridges or more of a triangular shape. I tried to make the face fairly crocodile-like, but I think I made the top part a little too thick, I like the dinosauresque look too though. I think the angle in the photos doesn't help- it looks better from a more horizontal viewpoint. I was planning to have at least one more variant of the face though, so I might try something a bit different next time...
Have you thought about getting these sculpted? Failing that: photogrammetry and scanning for 3D printing?
Could you show/make a picture in which size-comparison is made with a Saurus Warrior or skink? (I have a hard time figuring out the height ) Gr, Imrahil
Thanks! Still working on some new bits for it, I've only just started getting back into the Lizardmen. I stopped playing warhammer about 10 years ago- my last army was a Persian themed hobgoblin force. At some point I also plan to sculpt a cold one mount for my saurus
Sure, I made the kroxigor a little closer to the TW scale, so it's a little bigger than some of the other monstrous infantry. It's a bit too large, really, though I always felt the kroxigor could stand to look a little more tanky...
Well the painted one I have here isn't the original -I used that one to make a silicon mould and cast a new figure out of fastcast resin. It took me a while to get a hang of with such a small figure- I'd been fighting bubbles and half moulds for days!
I mean they're not that hard to produce, I was going to make a few more anyway (thought I might try and cheese a big kroxigor/skink army once I've got my variant parts). Where do you live?
