Hello everyone! I’m a long time lurker on this forum and have picked up painting again after a few months away. My first model back: an Incantor converted into a saurus priest (not really cannon, but I think it looks cool).

I stole this idea from reddit (u/calebexnihilo) and added the tail and some other greeblies here and there. I still need to clean up some painting spots here and there, but it’s 98% done. Comments are welcome and appreciated!

I have other conversion projects coming down the pipe soon which I’ll post some WIP pictures of when I get home.

Thanks! It was a lot of fun! I like customization so I have a lot of individual models in various states of completeness. I’ll post my finished Kroq Gar when I get home from work today

That is one awesome conversion. Not only is the detail in them excellent, but you did an excellent job attaching them so they don’t look like some weird mish mash of body parts. Very well done and your painting complements the awesome conversion.

Super cool conversion nicely done, I do feel the hand feels alittle small but overlooked when you apprechiate the model as whole

My Carno I did about 3 years ago. Might repaint the Spears on his back at some point but I’ve got too much on my plate right now. I also need to touch up his rock with some lighter grays too F0A90F17-4D01-4C0F-88CE-C290726E7BE2.jpeg

Here you go! WIP (obviously). First time trying to sculpt large sections with green stuff. I’ve hated the cold ones and I’ve been plenty of people use the dark elf cold ones for saurus. I was on Pintrest and saw some concept art for a saurus mount on four legs and I loved the idea!

They are taking longer then I thought they would....

Nice idea with the blade on the head of the Carno, giving him that deadly rhino look.

    Edit: brilliant bases, too!

They look really good, nice to see some variation to the classic, yet outdated cold ones.

Those cold ones look amazing! They completely outclass the current seraphon ones, which really, really need an update. As for your other stuff, especially the bases, they look excellent and are very well done. The water on the carnosaur is excellent.

I have never loved the current models. I’m still figuring out how to sculpt, but the proof of concept is there

Thanks! I’ll try not to post too much WIP stuff because I’m tired of my army being an unfinished blob of blue. Astrolith Barer is next! If I have time tonight, I’m going to finish his base and maybe base coat the actual Astrolith

If it helps your progress, post as many WIP or finished pictures as you like!
(Within reasonable limits that is. :D )

What @Aginor said. WIP pics are very useful for us seeing your progress, but also suggesting how you could improve or stuff to work on. Also WIP pics look awesome.

@Aginor @Lizerd hmmm good points. In that case, here is my Astrolith Barer so far. I made the Astrolith to save some money and converted a saurus Oldblood because I don’t really need him in my army. I sculpted the skull a long time ago and I was just waiting for the perfect model to put the head on.

I was having some trouble getting the Astrolith into his hands without blocking the horns, but I couldn’t figure out a way to do it. Instead, I decided to “plant” the Astrolith into the ground and mount the guy beside it. I glued him onto the base before I painted it (which was a mistake) and had to cut him off again. I plan to put some rocks around the base of the shaft to hid the fact it’s not really in the ground. I also need to support it more with a toothpick because I used a base for the flat round part and filled in the back with green stuff. It’s got a decent effect, but it’s STUPER top heavy and wobbles around.

Do the parts on the face of the disc look okay? Do you guys have any suggestions to make it look more aztec-y?

Oh! What if I sanded down the back of the parts so they don’t stick out so much? I think that might make them blend with the disc portion better

Got a lot of progress on my Astrolith Barer done tonight! Still need to finish base coating him, then onto the washes. Had to put a quarter into the base to balance out the weight. Loving the way he is turning out so far
