    Hi guys,

    Simple question:

How on earth should I get in the mood to paint again? Laziness has been over me for the last 2-3 months.

Last november (when I was still painting) I placed an order on Total wargamer. 2 carnos and 2 rippers. I was really longing to start with them. It took until a week ago before I received my order and now I don't start.

I want to paint them but I don't get to it. How do I get my inspiration back?

    Hi Crillaz

I find myself in your situation all of the time. I have a few things that sometimes helps me find the motivation again.

    • Make it convenient, if possible make sure that everything is set up for you to get right to painting instead of doing the whole routine of getting everything.

Include the new model in your next fight, envision it all painted up and ready to rip! :)

Watch pictures of the model you are about to paint, gives both inspiration and motivation.

When you do start paint, put on a youtube batrep or paintisode to keep you company ;)

That's some tips to help get this thread started :)

    Try something new!

My LM bores me, considerably so, with their dull and useless blue and dark blue GW scheme, so i am going to change those i've painted so far, and practice new techniques!

    Drybush a lot.

    Highlight a lot.

Do colors that are polar opposites, very dark with very bright.

simply put, change the name of the game!

Write yourself a double carno double ripper list you can get excited about. Set it out in front of you and you'll realize to get to play it its gotta be painted.

One thing that helps me along these lines is find some local friends who paint and do some paint nights ... get together ... paint ... BS ... have a good time.

For some that is too distracting. For me it gets me off me arse and in the mood to paint!

    Good luck!!

I was about to say "paint something awesome to kickstart your motivation", but then I saw what you got. I dual carnos cannot get you started then.. then..

    I have no answer :jawdrop:

Haha, Yep. Thats how bad it is… :) Im sure I will enjoy it ones I start tho. Its just the problem of starting.

I like that too. And that is how me and my two gaming friends here usually do. But that is a few months ago since last time now. We have to set up a paint night again.

Oh, by the way, Im not trying to get people to start drinking by what Im gonna say now. Just so you know.

Last year when I was going to paint my stegadon I reunited with an old friend that I haven't seen for many years. He is into DE. Plan was just to paint but shortly after he arrived we opened our first beer and after that whiskey…
5 am I considered myself done with the stegadon (not howdah and crew. Just monster).
Result was better then I could imagine after that drinking session.

So drinking and driving is a catastrophe but drinking and painting can be really fun (for those of us who have reached legal age in respective country).

For me the hardest part is the undercoat. Force yourself to sit down for 15 minutes, prime the model, basecoat it and leave it.

Then the next session you'll get to start straight into the fun bits!

Great, once you get going and start to see the result of something awesome I'm sure you'll continue and enjoy it ;)

Also, post a picture of the beast once it's ready :)
