Entries will be accepted February 17th through March 9, 2014.



Welcome to the first of our newly sanctioned painting competitions! The spirit of this contest is for fun and fun alone, with bragging rights going to the winners.

The theme is Skinks! You can submit any Skink or Skink conversion model you would like, so long as it is not a mounted Skink. This includes;

Skink Chiefs
Skink Priests
Skink Cohorts
Skink Skirmishers
Chameleon Skinks
Skink Handlers (No Sally's or Razors, just the handlers.)

Entrants must submit at least ONE model or no more than TEN models in any combination of the above listings. Please no large cohorts. Mix-n-matched models must at least fit together in a coherent manner.

CATEGORIES

There are 3 categories for this contest:

1. Open Competition
This includes ANY model(s) that fit the contest theme. Models must have been painted within the last 6 months.

2. Converting Competition
This includes ANY model(s) that fit the contest theme and which have been SIGNIFICANTLY converted/sculpted. (i.e. you can't just swap out a couple arms and call it good) Inclusion of WIP images can help your score in this category, but are not required. Models must have been converted/painted within the last 6 months.

3. Diorama Competition
This includes ANY model(s) that fit the contest theme and which are represented in a dramatic/comical/inspiring manner. Your diorama MUST be able to tell a story without any explanation besides the title. Models must have been painted within the last 6 months.


CONTEST RULES

Please be sure you read through them fully.

1. This contest is open to any and all who would like to enter, so long as they adhere to the required theme.

2. Entrants may use models from different armies or manufacturers, so long as the model is easily identified to fit the theme.

3. Entrants may use INFANTRY models from different armies to enhance their entry, so long as it is clear that the main emphasis is on models that fit the theme.

4. Entries MUST be submitted with a title. If no title is given, the entry will be named by Spawning of Bob (and he won't be nice...)

5. Entrants MAY enter in multiple categories, but with only one entry per category.

6. NO MORE than 3 images per entry.

7. Photo-editing will grant you an immediate disqualification. You MAY however adjust the brightness, contrast, hue, size or other relevant adjustments. Questionable photos will be reviewed by the judges. IF YOU ADJUST YOUR PHOTO it is highly recommended that you keep an original copy of the image, just in case there is any concern to it's authenticity.

TO SUBMIT AN ENTRY

Simply reply to this thread with either a link to the image or go ahead and post images directly in this thread. It would be preferred for entrants to submit multiple images in one single paneled image if possible.

You MUST submit your image along with your title AND declare the relevant category you wish to compete in. Entries will be accepted February 17th through March 9, 2014. That's 3 weeks.

VOTING

Voting will take place place during the 2nd week of March. The declared judges will deliberate throughout this week to determine the winner of each category.

I will also create a "popular vote" thread for each category so the forum can provide feedback to pick their personal favorites. Judges who submit entries will only be able to win through the popularity contest, as they wont be allowed to judge their own products. This is just for fun, no awards will be given in this category.

AWARDS!!

Open Competition Winner - This award will go to the entrant whose submittal wins the Open category.

Conversion Competition Winner - This award will go to the entrant whose submittal wins the Conversion category.

Diorama Competition Winner - This award will go to the entrant whose submittal wins the Diorama category.

Lustria's Best - Category winners will be the only contestant eligible to enter for this award. The winner of this will be determined by the forum via poll.

There are also some "conditional" awards that will be given per the judges discretion.

Yeah, the intention was to cap it at 10 models per category/entry. You can feasibly enter 30 models, but they need to be spread out in different categories. Make sense?

The entry deadline is by March 9th, though Qupokoco is planning to start another contest later this year so if you get something done in April, you can probably enter it then.

Your planning to convert one of your pets into a model?!? Monster!

Just kidding. I got a piece for the diorama contest finished, I'm just having photo issues. If time permits I plan to make an entry into the conversion contest as well.
