Do you think a human lizardmen army could work?

Either Aztec warriors, or barbarians or something? Would you be opposed to playing it if it was done well?

There are some old Amazon minitures from Lustria as well.
(think some might still be on GW's site ?)
Quite a few companies sell Historical Mayan and Aztec minitures.
probaly a lot cheeper that GW's stuff, be shure you check that they are 28mm though,
a lot of those are in the shorter 25mm ranges.

Ps. some of these Bloodstone Gnomes from reaper have a fantasy mayan vibe to them,

Id love to play with or against fully converted armies.
I dont think anyone would mind.

If I already didnt have my lizzy army, id prob 3D print one for myself, in a mario theme. Bowser as a Slann, Koopa troopas as sauruses etc.. would be hilarious.

Its not exactly a conversion, but I convinced my boy to paint his Minotaurs black and white.

Hey presto - Chaos tainted Frisians!!!!!!!!!

    Absolutely.

Aztec Warriors, Crusading Bretonnians, Empire colony... or my personal favourite, Empire soldiers who have been captured and 'gone native' ala Last Samurai. You could have a counts-as Lizardmen or Empire list that way!

I believe way back when the Slann army used to have slave fighters. Maybe work them like hunting packs have handlers and randomize wounds against and if all the handlers die the unit flees off to the nearest board edge 2D6 a movement phase just to muck things up and causing hits equal to models remaining on units they pass through. I would say they'd be restricted to basically them basic humans with sword and board, but immune to psych or high Ld as long as handlers are nearby. Like bretonnian men at arms. 5 handlers per block of 25 slaves hitting handlers on a 5-6 when distributing hits. Maybe include the ability to merge slave units within the pack to make large blocks. Just spitballing here, but I like the idea of it.

In our 7th edition book there was mention of labotomized human warriors in service to the armies of Tlaxtlan due to one eccentric slann's orders. At one point I had a mind to convert a unit of these, playing them as a skink cohort. I only got a few converted and I've since taken them apart for parts, but I used the bodies and heads from Flaggelents, with bronze skulls and stuff as decorations, gave them cut off spears leftover from my saurus to count as javelins, and then gave them old school round saurus shields that I had leftover from when Saurus were mono-pose hunched goons.

I do recall some very early editions of the lizardmen army book with human warriors.
But a whole converted army could work. Perhaps marauders would be a good base for troops
