So I just watched the Disney Atlantis: The Lost Empire and got an idea :oldman:

So with the 9th age, we might need to change some things, so that GW does not get mad.

So I thought, why don't we say that Lizardmen's city is Atlantis, we don't need to only have one city, but Atlantis could be our new Itza.

Think about it, if we had to change it up, Atlantis is probably the best alternative. A lost empire, filled with mystique and wonder, so many secrets, a legendary sunken city (it doesn't necessarily need to be a sunken city). The architecture (in the movie at least) is actually rather close to something mayan/aztec and with a little greek here and there.

Atalntis was struck by some great cataclysm and sank (like when Chaos came to the world.... hmm anyone?)
The geomantic web could be what is protecting the cities, also giving it a more important role.

I don't know, I just thought it was a great idea :cigar: and wanted to let you know. Keep in mind that this is so far no more than an idea, but try to think about it :pompus:

If nothing else, I might actually finish my Lizardmen army and make a new one, themed after Atlantis. Or maybe not, but I seriously want to

I'm not sure about the 9th Age (I'm not really interested in it tbh) but I've always thought that the magitek they used in Disney's Atlantis, and in other, similar canon, would be the direction GW would take lizardmen. Rather than lay most of the focus on dinosaurs move to focus on arcane technology.

Yeah I think the magitek would be a great fit for Lizardmen

I like the idea of deep diving lizardmen. From a conversion stand point (if I ever try my hand at it), it would be really awesome to see octopus heads on all of them. I don't want to destroy your idea, but chaos could easily twist their faces into a Cthulu type army.

Octopus heads or not, you have something here, it totally fits their mystique to have a sunken city. I'm picturing something along the lines of naga ruins in WoW.

There's already a prerequisite for it - Chupayotl, the Sunken City.

yes, but we might not be able to use that for 9th age, but as an argument as to why the Lizards could have an Atlantis themed city in 8th, it is great.

Well... I didn't quite think of that, but you are right, I just don't think that chaos would have the luck to transform Lizardmen, but maybe if some cities got destroyed when Chaos attacked it could basically be like Chaos Dwarves. So that way I could see you getting your Octolizards.

I'd love to see an expanded Lizardmen fluff section based around a sunken city. The modelling and terrain building possibilities are appetizing.
