I'm absolutely in love with AoS, though I don't mind what other people do. So long as nobody does what that psychopath did back in July, the one who set fire to his army. That just hurt me to watch. Just sell the models, dude!

I'll try to sum the different positions:

Player A: I play (ad collect) only official GW material, and AoS is cooler than you think.
Player B: AoS is fun! But we can play also 8th 'cause I like it.
Player C: AoS sucks. I like 8th before End Times, and i think it would be fun to do also some 7th. No interest in 9th, because (unclear reasons, but essentially he also knows other people and they don't play it)
Player D: The shop's owner. 9th could be cool, but he goes where money are, so he supports AoS, and will still play old editions for fun
Player E: he doesn't play no more
Player F: it's me. I'm the last one joining the group, and I'm facing this. I tried to support 9th (giving pdfs and trying to boost it), but in the end I failed. Which means: I can play AoS, or old WHFB editions. Which is a pity, but at least I can play.

Plus, there are positive facts, anyway: I was interested in WH since decades (I've played with the first edition of Space Hulk), but I really started the hobby only with 8th (that's another story). But I have old armybooks (lizard and dwarfs), so I'm happy to test for the first time also the old editions.
For me, it's all new stuff: the last month I've played my first game ever of 7th, with a list with Tetto, a Slann (heavens) and a skink priest, casting 3 Casandora in the first turn, and it was a total fun! :D

Yes, not only it was a senseless waste, but come on, all our models are somewhat "alive". He burned also the memories and the love that were attached to those minis.

WHAT? That's... that's just vile. Even if you dislike the End Times and AoS, the Nagash model is one of the most beautiful models that GW has ever released, everyone I know who has one (which is a surprising amount of players including a few who don't play Undead) has it to paint it and put it on display because it's so nice.
    This guy is sin.

All backers should already have their core rulebooks by now, you still diidn't get yours ? You should probably contact Mantic to see if your package has not been lost.

Or where you referencing the Uncharted Empire supplement, the one that add new armies including the Salamanders ?
This one was not part of the Kickstarter and is currently in pre-order, it should be released very soon (probably a matter of days now before he is available at stores)

There were various hitches. Some my fault. And Mantic has been in touch. I didn't even have to inquire. They reached out to me.

Definitely AoS, I play with my group once or twice a week. The games are always fun and there hasn't been one where I felt one side was too overpowered. lizards are strong and have so many different ways to use them now to.
Couldn't be happier with the hobby

I've been meaning to set up a post but I will give yoh guys a heads up now. Avatars has a game called warthrone that is pretty good. It isn't as complicated as 8th but it is much more complicated then KoW, and the best part is that even though they have armies for their game they also take gw armies and convert their rules so you can use them for warthrone. Lizardmen are not converted yet but the creator of tge game is working on them now so they will be playable soon. A couple other cool things is that the rules are all free on AoW website and there is even a frwe army builder.

That's pretty interesting. They definitely make some really outstanding models but I didn't even know that their rule set was finished.

Hopefully the odd 8th edition game, or 9th if anyone in my local scene wants to get into it.

Otherwise I don't have much time for mandollies any more, and I have so many half finished Lizardmen models :(

Will GW still allow players to play 8th in their stores, or are all games and 8th ed paraphernalia banned?

My Lizards (along with their HE, DE and OnG counterparts) are boxed up an on several shelves. I moved recently and no longer live anywhere near any LGS or my former gaming group. They all quit playing shortly before the End Times anyway. I'll probably hold onto my models because my children like them so much and want to play, so it will be 8th (as I am familiar with it) or AoS once they get a little older. Until then, I will continue to play Battletech to scratch the war gaming itch.

If I had to predict the future, probably kow, just because I think my local group will go towards kow after they get over their rebound with infinity. I am probably most interested in 9th with kow as a good alternative.

Unfortunately KOW isn't a good alternative to any game IMO, it doesn't give you much in the ways of customizing units so every game feels like you are pushing blocks around. The only people that I would suggest play KOW is young kids just getting into wargaming

    May I ask why?
