This has been a question that during my slann-like mediations, my mind has wondered to. Do fellow lustrians play/did play or are interested in any other games systems, like x-wing from fantasy flight or D and D from wizards of the coast. Note that kings of war is not on here ans there is a section on the forum about it already. I myself play Warhammer 40k and x-wing. This thread will have a poll, and if your game is not on that list then tell me about it! I believe it will rather interesting to see this as maybe there will be some games more popular among us then others! Also what army do you play! please say... Dwarfepic
I have only played 40k, although there are some other wargames that I´d like to try, like X-wing. I don´t really know about the others
I used to play heroclix, which was almost all batman themed, for me anyway! And D&D board games are quite good. Castle Ravenloft is a brilliant game! I played one game of 40k. Years ago, and one game of LOTR years ago as well!
Dungeons and Dragons, role play usually themed in Dungeons you control and build a single character usually and you become as one after a few games, not played for 20 yrs but boy is it good.
@dwarfepic KOW lately, brilliant game. Used to play D&D and we made up campaigns. Don't really fancy any of the others atm.
Made a lot of D&D campaigns when I was younger. Haven't played WH40K in a long time, but still have my Templars (which are in desperate need of an update) I have considered getting into Hordes, those Gatormen and the other swamp dudes look pretty awesome. Very curious if gatormen could proxy as kroxigors, I would just need to check if they are bigger than regular Saurus.
Oh! I played that one once with one of my teachers (he collects models since I think 20 years ago). It was great! I survived by luck, I came out in the 3rd dark hour (I think that´s what it´s called), but then I won
The question at the top of the poll differs from the question in the thread title. That difference causes my answer(s) to change. That said, the the number of games I have played or been interested in that are not listed at all is more than double the ones I can put a check mark on. So other games... Sky Galleons of Mars, Butternut & Blue, ACW and 19th Century Naval Wargames, Chainmail (TSR version), Battlesystem (TSR), Warlord, Dystopian Wars, CAV, DBA, Hordes of the Things... ...Mordheim and variants. (Edit)
Some things I play that are not in the list: Mordheim, Bloodbowl, The Hobbit, Bolt Action, Through the breach, Saga And non-miniature related: mtg and all kinds of boardgames.
I was considering putting bolt action and mordhiem on, but for some unknown reason I didn't (sry guys) It is currently close on the poll with D and D only one vote ahead of 40k and x wing, batman and malifaux joint!
Warhammer: Diskwars, D&D, Imperial Assault, & my friends copy of X-wing and Armada. oh and MTG & various board games.
Technically I haven't played any other miniature games, but I have played DnD, just never with the figures. I used to play DnD as the go to system when playing with friends, now a days I have converted to GURPS (by the way GURPS is a super fun system!), which is a bit more complex than DnD. It takes some more preparation and designing for a game to run, but since there's quite some time between the game session I run, it's really just more fun for me as game master
My main game is 40k. I don't know how many points of Chaos Space Marines I have, but it's nearing the 5000pt mark at least. Then there's Necrons, Tyranids, Orks, Dark Eldar.... I also like a lot of GW's "minigames" and own Dreadfleet and Hero Quest and will soon be purchasing Imperial Knight: Renegade (mostly for the knights, but my friend bought it and says the game is also pretty fun) and Warhammer Quest: Silver Tower. Sadly where I live now is very space restricted, so I rarely get to play anything that needs a 4x4 or 6x4 table.
Played a lot of the skirmish offerings from GW; Necromunda, Mordhiem and especially Gorka Morka are all great fun. I like persistent characters so they suit me better. Warhammer quest was brilliant too. I'd also like to try deadzone as it reminds me of Necromunda. Edit:I forgot Epic 40K which is apparently coming back!
