In my mind stomp wouldn't work on flying units as they'd just be out of the way maybe poor piloting ?
So in Ninth it has a list of Stompable troop types. Infantry is one of these. Have a look at slann's entry and also the entry for the skink one, both say infantry. I say yes either of them would cop the stomps in the face.
If it were me personally i'd play it on a dice roll each time as if it has a chance of being stomped on because it didn't move out of the way or something
I guess @SlanntaClause has the right idea! That would be a realistic way to play it. Would be a good addition for t9a 2.0... Only reason why it should be played the simple always get stomped way could be some external balance...
Both can get Stomped just as any other infantry model. The Slann in 8th has this weird rule that they do not count as being on foot, but the only interaction that has with another rule is as far as i know that he is not harmed by Purple Sun. This is pretty nice, but not often used as he should be in a unit of TG which gives him a free pass to Look Out Sirs any way..
According to the rules models on a palanquin can be stomped as they have the Infantry troop type. The only way this would ever come up in game play though is if an enemy unit with stomp was in base to base contact with your Palanquin character... From a fluff perspective, I'm torn. The palanquin just hovers. It isn't flying, and the palanquin doesn't make the unit faster, so on the surface there isn't anything that the palanquin does that makes the character more able to evade a stomp. But on the other hand, the caster on a palanquin seems equivalently large to say cavalry, or a Caiman, which can't be stomped.
It's deffinatly one of those situations where you think do they actualy play out any of their rules before assigning them moments anyone playing me will have to agree that a flying giant slab of rock and a giant toad is gonna dodge your stomp 9 times out of 10 - the old lore of the being carried by the temple gaurd I can accept yeah stomp those guys and let the palanquin fall to the ground
Think in abstracts guys. A stomp doesnt necessary mean that it gets flattened by the foot. From a narrative perspective it might as well symbolize the beast moving wildly and the frog getting hit by spikes..tail(s) or simply brawled down or launched aside by the beasts weight. Besides, I dont think palanquins move at flying saucer speed
Well AoS fluff (and End Times too sadly) has Lizardmen flying around in space aged technology... so you never know.
