I said no.because I did push myself really hard to get the job done and I was stressed I would not make it in time, but I just love seeing completed work so I would be on with an extention...or you could ask how many more painters are planning to submit for the contest by the original end date then once the dead line is hit I would be fine with a 3-14 day extension but a month is a bit painful for me...most of the time I'm not motivated to work on my models so I serch this sight or p Pinterest/Google for inspiration...and this hang to wight longer to see everyones work is painful...

Ohhh! I am really conflicted on this one, I would definatelly benefit A LOT from the extension in finishing my Lizardman Entry. However in my opinion extending the deadline a compleate month puts everyone that finished ontime on a clear disadvantage.

This is what I think is good and bad about the extension:

    The Good:
    - Hopefully we will see more entries
    - I won't have to rush on my entry
    - We would have more time to make the competition known

    The Bad
    - providing a 50% more time to the deadline really afects those that finished on time. Not only because of the hard work and the rush but also because if this was known from the beggining they could have changed the scope of the proyect to make sonething bigger/better
    - having to wait longer to see the entries and having to wait longer to show the entries
    - there are still people that will wait until las minute to send their entries

To me this are the most importan considerations when making the desicion. Aditionally I believe that @neveroddoreven is right, people submit the entries as you get close to the deadline, so probably if we don't deside to go for the extension we will see aditional entries during the weekend. I know I won't be able to submit mine before saturday, and from what @Crowsfoot mentioned he hasn't submited his either so it is very possible that many of us are in the same position.

Therefore, after much thinking and a very long reply hahahha :S. I think I will vote to keep the deadline, even if that means I won't get to submit my Lizard entry.

If it where a one week extension to allow people finishing touches and so on I might have chosen differently but in my opinion a whole month is a lot of time.

Having said that I am good with any choise you make! And I do like that you gave the oportunity to everyone to speak their minds and vote for the solution

I'd say about 5 entries per category per teir to make it a good choice of entrants to chose from - and then less for the master teir maybe 3-4 miniumum (but I guess with the talent on here a lot will be in the master I just think more will be in apprentice because of the community based element)

With 3 entries though you're guaranteed a 1st second of 3rd place - The thing me and pheodin made would be nice to make a poster to advertise the competition to draw in more people you could sandwedge some information inbetween about he competition.

Sorry for awful spelling I see all the red squiggly lines xd for next years one I can conceptualise a poster for it in advance if you like and then find people with skills to execute it - I have ideas all the time they plague me :p

Personally I'm finishing up my models for the competition, and have a conversion ready for the open category and am midway through painting my lizard entry. TBH I'm a 'last minute' type of person, and will probably submit my entries on the night before or the day of the deadline. If the contest gets extended for another week or so I won't mind, but will probably start another model for the contest.

The way that I might think about it is having a quota for either each category or the entire contest. As noted there were only 17 entries at the time the thread was posted, and it seems like we were expecting a few more. Maybe if 25 entries are received on the original deadline then no extension would be needed? Come up with your own number, and I think if we can hit that then no extension is needed. Otherwise, I would add a maximum of one week to the comp.

The voting has been very close, so while it has ended on Yes, we have decided to not extend the deadline with a month.

What we will do is extend the deadline to end of day August 3rd (PDT (Pacific Standard Time), for anyone that might need a little more time for their entry. Please note that we will not be able to accept any entries submitted after this deadline.

On behalf of the staff, I would like to thank everyone that has taken the time to vote and also those that have expressed their opinion. We are blessed to have such a good community that we have here that we can take up and discuss cases like this in a civil manner.

Also this is how a 52% 48% split should be handled - take note UK ;)

A perfect resolution! Might actually be able to get another entry done by the 3rd. :)

I think this sums up Lustria Online nicely, I have said it before but I'm going to say it again, the community spirit on here is outstanding wether your a veteran or a new comer all are treated equally and I think that is why LO is so popular.

Great work guys and girls :)

Maybe extend it a few days or a week but otherwise there's always next year. You have to strike when the iron is hot and not draw things out too much :)

Fair resolution, a one month extension would have been too long, even though I won´t be able to submit, I´ll plan better fo the next comp. :)
