    Hello all!

I've just recently gotten into Age of Sigmar after I got hooked on the IP in Total War: Warhammer. I got the starter set and I've done some painting with the Stormcast, and although I like the models, they didn't quite grab my attention like the Seraphon did!

I bought the SC box, Thunderbeast host, and a lot off of ebay, which came with some warriors who already had a splotchy red basecoat, so for my first go around I decided to paint them up.

This is my 5th or so model in AoS, but my first lizardmen model, so any advice would be appreciated! More hopefully will come as I fill up this blog post with all the goodies I've gotten and any I may gain in the future.

Welcome aboard! Saurus is looking good so far! You seem to have a decent understanding of painting. For the SC I always recommend convert one knight to a scar-vet on cold one and the oracle from the trog into a starpriest, or skink chief if you already have a starpriest. Any questions don't hesitate to ask.

I usually don't like the red/green paint schemes,
but with the more muted palate, I think it works. :artist:

Thanks all! I'm doing some work now to convert the cold one as suggested, and I'm also making use of the spare ripperdactyl parts that I have since I've decided to go with the terradons.

I'll post pics when I get more progress!

Very nice color scheme, curious to see how it looks for a whole unit

Sorry I haven't gotten more dinos up, I've been painting up some stormcast eternals for a game my group will be having this weekend.

I've also run into an issue, I've gotten a Lord Kroak (yay!) from ebay, but he's missing the decorative piece that goes on the top of the palanquin, and I haven't found any bits for it anywhere. Anyone have suggestions of where I should look or what I could use to make up for that part?

I think there is a part on a Stegadon/EotG kit (from that throne) that looks almost exactly the same.
(provided I understood which part you mean)

Oh that's a good idea! If I take some of those spikes left over from the EotG I can attach it to the top of the throne and it looks pretty close.

    Thanks a bunch!

Now that I've finally gotten some green stuff, I've managed to do some work on a batch of old resin terradons who I just absolutely dislike. Since I like the look of the plastic terradons, I used the left over ripperdactyl heads to make myself a unit of rippers.

    A WIP shot.

This is my first time using green stuff and it's harder to handle than I thought, but I'm working my way through it. As more practice, I went with the easier conversion of chameleon skinks, and I really enjoyed making the little lizard that sits on top of the skink's head.

Brilliant - I also hate those 7th Edition Terradons, turning it into a Ripper is a fantastic use for them! Nice job with the Skink, too!

Nice conversions, looking forward to more pictures of these two.

And the background choice is a good one!

Thank you both for the compliments! I'm working on getting a batch of 10 chameleons under my belt so I'm more comfortable working with details, then I'll move back to the ripper!

Awesome work! Green stuff is definitely a very hard medium to master (I have great difficulties with it), but your work is coming along very very nicely.

    Thank you!

And in other updates, it's that time of year in California where all the little fourth graders do their models of one of the California missions, and I saw this left by the recycling and all I could think of was terrain. So we'll see what I can whip up!

Good find! Oddly reminds me exactly of a Counter Strike map a friend of mine made a very long time ago... Textures and all!

Good use of recycling old art projects! Are you planning to upgrade it at all, maybe a new paint job or jungle-plants at the base?

Yes I am! I'm tearing it apart to have some cool ruins, since this thing is so huge it'll make plenty of cool pieces. I'll be adding in details like stone and wood work, and adding some foliage to get an overgrown feel.

They look awesome! The bases add so much to these. Great looking unit.
