Ah, Skaven and Night Goblins - been stabbing each other in the back since Karak Eight Peaks fell. Don't you mean Skragrott the Loonking?
Not exactly how much I wanted to get done today but I'll take it. 10 plague monks painted 10 clanrats painted 3 jezzail teams painted, need to add rust to blades 10 clanrats half-painted
5 of the 10 half painted clanrats from yesterday finished sans bases. Jezzails got rusted. On Barry the contrast castigator (paint test model) I experimented with flesh tearer red. Needless 5o say I've found my contrast paint for my stormcast. This simplifies my armor painting from 3 steps to 1 step, maybe 2 with light highlights.
When I read about contrast paints for the first time I instantly thought: "Those will be awesome for @Lord-Marcus!"
Lol thank you @NIGHTBRINGER they aren't a bad thing. they also are not all that and a bag of chips like games workshop seems to think. The deeper colored ones can get some pretty decent results. I haven't seen any with the flesh colors or the browns that I particularly care for so I may avoid those or I may pick them up for experimentation I'm not sure. But I'll say the deeper colors like reds and blues have been spot-on. As has warp lightning which is fast becoming my second favorite paint color in existence
Have you tried the contrast paints on skeletons? Might be a good/quick way of painting up Tomb Kings.
No, because a bone colored primer and the wonderful elixir of dark magic that is Vallejo sepia shade produces a similar result for cheaper. More landsknechts built tonight. Why these instead of skaven? I'm glad you asked. It's simply because I needed a break from Brown and green.
Same here. I use Army Painter "skeleton bone" as a primer and then just slap some sepia wash (Army Painter "soft tone") over it and that looks great. Like with the contrast paints it is only two steps.
Rats and men? As awesome as they may look, the carnosaur will be eating well tonight. Very awesome paint jobs and I look forward to seeing what you do next
The most noble threefold intention: 1. Break up painting monotony 2. Use models i have sitting 3. Show my gaming buddy free people's can win because he thinks they cannot
A successful night of kitbashing.also, next on the painting queue after the handgunners is a skaven clawlord.
