Trying to discuss movies here is difficult. I just will say that while the movie was not perfect, it was very good. It proves the MCU franchise is far from dead. It does seem clear that Spiderman is going to be the new face of the MCU and not Captain Miscast. I will also state that there were two after credits scene. The first was in a short ways into the credits, the last was at the very very end. The first was masterfully done and advances the main plot and Peter Parker's character arc. The second end credits scene is easily the worst part of Spiderman Homecoming. In my opinion it has no artistic merit and it doesn't enhance the plot. The movie would have been better were it not there. I would love to pick apart the plot and things I liked and didn't but I will wait till someone responds. Also, spoiler tags for talking about plot progression and character arcs.
I will watch it tomorrow. Thank you for your spoiler-free impression =). EDIT: Ok, i've seen it now and I had so much fun! Parts of it are hilarious (deliberately), the action is solid to bombastic and imho not one actor/actress performance falls flat. The characters are consistent and behave in a realistic manner. The only thing which bugged me was that from time to time the cropped out images of Tom Holland performing stunts in front of a green screen were not that good implemented into a cg environment. His motions were fluid, the cg background was solid and realisticly rendered, but sometimes I could not feel his weight, or call it grounding in the scene. Similar to the floating head issue of Mark Ruffalo in the Hulk Buster Armor in Infinity War. But it was not as prevalent and visible here, so it was fine. Regarding the story and plot, the whole Mysterio/Elemantals thingy was kinda obvious for me (how it would play out), but I grew up with Spider-Man TAS so.. Looking forward to the blu-ray, next to endgame and waayyy more than Captain Miscast .
Saw this movie... the UAV capabilities they were showing? Holy crap. The illusion-tech might be a bit much in my opinion, but a drone swarm? Scary stuff!
Me being quarantined had me discover Filmento. His analysis is great. Unless you don't like spoilers, than his analysis sucks. Spoiler: Far From Home Analysis
Spoiler: Plot twist spoiler I saw the movie. Liked it. Was initially confused about Mysterious suddenly bein. A good guy when he is a dedicated villain figure in the comics, then with the twist thought it was very well done. I hated the last bit of the end credits scene. This seems like it’s leading into Civil War, but hey already did that, so not sure what they’re trying to do.
