Hello everyone, New Seraphon padawan and first time poster. Having been growing tired of playing Khorne all the time I was extremely lucky to be gifted a large amount of Seraphon from a friend who no longer plays them! We have a 750 point event at my local store in a couple of months that I feel would be a perfect time to debut them. I am looking for some advice on a list from what I own below. 1x Slann Starmaster 1x Skink Starpriest 1x Skink Priest with Feathered Cloak 1x Bastiladon 1x EotG 1x Carnosaur with Scar Vet 1x Saurus Sunblood 1x Saurus Eternity Warden 2x Salamanders 25x Saurus Guard 28x Saurus Warriors 21x Skinks 8x Saurus Knights 6x Ripperdactyl Ridders My initial thoughts were some sort of objective holding list based around Saurus Guard and the Saurus Eternity Warden. Any help is greatly appreciated though
Welcome to Lustria. Gratz on the good fortune with inheriting Seraphon! You should check out the list located in my signature thread. I haven't written any for 750, but there are a few 1k list that could give you some direction. Ripperdactyls are amazing units. Saurus Guard can also be very effective at 1k and lower.
I will check them out! Thank you for the advice! I am looking at maybe adapting that Shadowstrike Starhost strategy for my 750 list.
What do you think of something like this? Allegiance: Seraphon - Mortal Realm: Ghur LEADERS: Skink Starpriest (80) - General - Command Trait : Master of Star Rituals - Artefact : Gryph-Feather Charm - Spell : Meteoric Convocation UNITS: 10 x Skinks (70) - Boltspitters & Star Bucklers 10 x Skinks (70) - Boltspitters & Star Bucklers 6 x Ripperdactyl Riders (280) BATTALIONS: Shadowstrike Starhost (180) TOTAL: 680/750 EXTRA COMMAND POINTS: 1 WOUNDS: 32 With the final 70 points I am unsure if I should add 10 more skinks to make 1 of those units a block of 20 or just add 1 razordon and maybe an endless spell.
I would not add another unit. Because that way it stays a one drop list. And a one drop Shadowstrike is scary. Really scary. Unless your enemy also plays one drop and goes first, nuking away your hero, you will have a great chance of winning. You could either bring an endless spell or increase one of the Skink units to 20. I would probably go for the latter.
definitely bump one unit to 20X skinks. consider being flexible with the skinks lore spell, if you are facing something that is a little horde-y (even at 750) you can go with Stellar tempest. If I recall correctly, lore spells and artifacts are not "locked" into the list until after you have shared your list with your opponent, so you can base those choices off what you see. for casual friendly games that shouldn't be an issue either way
Looks like a great list. I agree with @Aginor & @ILKAIN about the skinks. I prefer Meteoric Convocation for 1k games. If play vs Fyrlslayers or Death then you need a way to attempt hero snipes.
Thank you everyone for all the help! Do the skink weapons really matter? I figure I would probably want to keep the unit of 20 with boltspitters for the shooting bonus but I am wondering if the other 10 should have javelins?
I would take the 20x as Javs. They will hit and wound on 4s that way. Range should be an issue since they will get to move 2 d6" after set up.
