Hey everyone, have you used the new mercenary groups? Like FEC, vampires, fyreslayers, do any of them work well? Is it worth buying them to our army? I feel it could be thematically interesting to have them, but not if I'l never play them. Wanted to know your opinions on the subject
I usually like my armies pure, I don't even play with allies except if they fit particularly well, an example being Wanderers and Sylvaneth. The mercenaries.... Maybe I'd play the Khorne dudes to have some punch in melee, and convert them as mad human followers of a Slann, who worship him (perhaos as a Chaos God) and are too dumb to understand that they are just pawns in his game. A bit like the old legends of Lizardmeb using lobotomized human slaves. Conversion of the Khorne dudes could work with a lot of feathers and Seraphon glyphs replacing the Khorne symbols.
Um, yes and no? I have one of the old Undead catapults that I'm planning on using as a Mercenary Dwarf Cannon with my Deathrattle army, but haven't actually had a chance to do that yet. My plan is to save the points and spend them on an extra Command Point to offset the CP penalty. I'll let you know how it works...
It’s a cool idea, but mercenaries don’t integrate well enough into the armies I have run, and unfortunately I have not seen them used. The problem I have is they are not able to benefit from the powerful seraphon synergies and thus feel a bit lackluster without the powers of their battletome. Although if I got more stuff I might try them, I will see
You mean the Chaos Marauders? I didn't see any Khorne mercenary groups. And YES, Slann adoring humans sound exquisite. Looking forward to it! Deffinitely, but I am very curious. Not enough to buy a group, the cheapest being like 50 euros, but really curious anyway.
I do believe chaos warriors are slightly better and kinda chaos’ equivalents of stormcast in stats, although they are slightly inferior to liberators and sequitors.
