    you can definitely go middle of the road but to get the murder horn and 30 damage per charge you need to go all in.

    So Im currently Mawtribes and use a mixed list, mostly due to points but also because it's quite fun.
    My LGS doesnt have a whole lot of armies or people that play, but they only just started with AoS a couple months ago, so the armies I play against are Khorne, Bonereapers, and Stormcast.

    Mournfang are new to my army, only had 3 games so far with them. But they are not bad units.
    The Riders with the club and fist are
    3 attacks, 3+/3+/-/2 each
    The mounts are
    4 attacks, 4+/3+/-1/1
    2 damage on the charge

    Imo, they are a bit swingy, but can do a lot of damage on the charge. Especially after some buffs. Huskard on SH can make the tusks do 3 damage on the charge, and theres a butcher spell that adds 1 damage to all mount attacks.
    Because who doesnt like mournfang doing 4 damage with the tusks and SH doing 5 damage with the horns.

    Also in these games I used a Frost lord on SH once, and Huskard on SH twice. For just the mount, holy hell does it just delete a single unit. Which is where I believe it's meant to work best. They can also shrug off insane amounts of damage, that should kill them. And they have an artifact that let's you ignore your current bracket and treat the mount as having 0 wounds taken.

    In short, SH are monsters and elite/hero killers. Less models the better. But a single 10 man unit of Skinks should not be able to hold off mournfang, especially if they charge.
    But a 20 man unit should, which is the same price as 2 mournfang (140pts for 2).

    Sadly in short, skinks are still the best and seemingly only option.

    well ya maw tribes has great buffs that can make any unit kill things im working from base if you can similarly buff those 10 skinks you now hit on 5+ and it costs less to buff skinks. it's not that morn fang can't kill stuff it's that gluttons do it soooo much better for cheaper. and their charges are better

    I see. Yep, what a nerf.
    ...but frankly i am happy, the whole "6 ranged MW on a 2+" was horrible

    was it thou arkion can do just as much now so can catapults both are cheeper then 340 and can do other things. if you want a non bone reaper one we have stormcast long shots skaven januseries and the huracanium so it wasn't all that rare in the first place.

    Also ThunderTusks are basically useless now, and all versions of them need a points reduction.

    I guess that would depend on what height they are being dropped from and what the terminal velocity of a SCE model is! :D

    I was thinking maybe putting down some stormcast, getting a large rock, and hurling it at their filthy models but dropping them from a tree also sounds fun

    I suppose we haven't taken in to account the temperature of the rocks either, I'd propose somewhere in the region of 1000C, basically sacrificing them to an angry volcano god

    In fairness, they tend to show up in combat as lightning strikes, so dropping from the sky doesn't seem to bother them much :p

    What if you dropped a rock directly after dropping the SCE? So basically the best of both worlds.

    So......if a SCE is crushed by a rock and is 're-lightningified', you can crush him with a second rock.
