I've been exploring and piecing together the few scraps of evidence around to try and develop a pantheon of deities based upon those the Ancient British Celts would have worshipped. Even though I'm English I feel more of a Celtic identity than a Saxon one, as I have especially pale skin and a reddish hair tint which are both signs of a Celtic bloodline. Unfortunately most of the established Celtic mythology is either Irish (which is Goidelic and so has notable cultural differences to the Ancient Britons) or Welsh (which is closer to the Ancient Britons as the Welsh inherited their Brythonic language, but medieval Welsh culture still has its differences to the Ancient British), but I've discovered some connections between these surviving groups and the lost Ancient British culture, including the idea of Cernunnos being the Ancient British equivalent of the Irish Dagda, i.e. king of the gods and lord of nature.

Unfortunately alot of the information is either missing or from an unreliable source, thats probably why so many people nowadays just stick to norse or roman/greek, you got lucky with your genes then, im english and irish but i inherited most of my look from my father, english side of my family, if i had blonde or red hair id go full on dwarf slayer/berserker, or just end up looking like one of the wildlings from game of thrones :D

Take it from a scientist: modern day science is exactly what it needs to be. The very nature of science is that through peer review and efforts to replicate results (before they are ever presented as 'fact'), spurious science is disproven. That is the process.

On the contrary, the largest problem is the wilful ignorance of lay individuals who either refuse or lack the ability to critically appraise evidence, but still choose to spread their own falsehoods as fact.

The one redeeming factor of this thread is that, from the level of engagement with this nonsense, at least we can all feel comforted that we're not alone in waiting impatiently for a faction focus to discuss.

Truth is subjective. we can discuss about it 'til we reach a consensus on the desired result.

Yea sure, I suppose you want me to take it from soviet scientists as well?

Also those peer reviews, at one time worked the way you said, but over time they have become corrupted.

Like anything else, we don't like your book we won't review it. We don't like your research we won't peer review it.

Scientists helped create modern medicine, which is why no one ever gets cured for their illnesses when they go to hospital. Because there is no money in cures, only in treating symptoms.

modern science also created most of the sick people you see in the first place, by giving them confusing and contradictory advice on what they should and shouldn't eat.

My point is, if science worked the way it was meant to, there would be no mistakes or errors, and they wouldn't need to go back all the time and do a 180 on what they said before.

However in real life, that cosy job of 80k a year is probably worth telling people to eat modified soy and corn syrup as its healthy, even if a few of them do get cancer.

Ok i have to agree with you on some of those points, however, the issue of profiting from treatments is a greed issue not a science issue, there was a time when hypothermia was a common cause of death for pilots shot down over an ocean or sea, particularly big problem in the second world war, scientists found ways to treat hypothermia however and increased the chances of survival from that point on, so scientists do good work for the most part, and more importantly, science gave us injection molding and improved the quality of all our plastic miniatures :)

They're regular. Time for us all to take a moment to appreciate our (relative) sanity and education, and move on.

Why admit defeat so easily? surely with your "education" you must be able to come up with a half convincing argument.

Education also has the value of nothing, now 60% of people have degrees.

The thing is, you can tell if someone is intelligent by their thoughts and ideas. Having to rely on status flashing an education, is as crude as showing off a gold chain.

As a transplant patient myself, I can tell you that you are wrong. Its 7 (3 medications total) pills a day for an added 20+ years depending on the level of compatibility (1-6, but again, if you actually knew the subject you wouldnt have to be spoon fed the facts) the transplant.

Quality of life is actually quite great, you can do anything the average person can do with little to no limitations. I'm healthier than cancer patients and actually many "normal people". Sure I'm not as fit as I once was in high school when it all began, but that's honestly due to my own lack of excercise.

Compare that to people with obesity, who then also have high blood pressure meds, cholesterol meds etc...Transplant patients for the transplant itself do not take many pills.

Perhaps you should invest in some education on the subject before you open your ignorant mouth and waste your breath.

Thing is, you can tell the intelligence of someone by their thoughts on already proven facts...such as Dinosaurs being extinct and "lochness" not being an actual thing and not knowing plesiosaurs werent dinosaurs

Next you'll be telling us Pterosaurs and Dimetrodon were Dinosaurs also o_O:wacky:

Right what did you have, a hair line transplant?

I have actually watch a lot about it. And maybe you just got lucky. In which case good for you.

But I also watch a lot of people who have lung transplants, and their life is a living hell, has the transplant fails and they sick again, or their body rejects the new organ.

Oh yea a heart transplant, you be right as new, I am sure, fancy going jogging? come off it.

Look life, who cares, your here then you die. Everybody who ever lived died. No one came back. This insane idiocy of trying to extend life synthetically?

The way you live on, is by reproduction or by becoming a legend.

Yea, well, that's the thing. Life is brutal. Some people get to be 6.3 with perfect genetics and live a life basically with their trousers round their ankles.

And other people loose the genetic lottery and they can't even get their own body to work with them.

What's worse, is the middle class people you get today, who lived charmed lives, and had expensive education, telling everyone how you make your own luck or fighting for equality. In a world where no two things are equal.

That is their education though. You can't educate someone to be intelligent, you can only educate them to be educated.

And that's why they come out of university with all the same ideas about society and facts and life. They are taught in university to think they are intelligent and important.

When does it rub off for most people? normally when they get to around 50 and life has kicked their ass enough to teach them they are are just another nobody. By that time tho they to tired to learn all the stuff they didn't bother to learn when they were to busy thinking they knew it all.

Glad you know how to read, perhaps read better sources and get the facts right. I've lived through dialysis at 19 and a transplant at 20...I live what you obviously know shit about like every other keyboard warrior and "reader".

Me too, a friend of mine just had one and is doing great (walking over 6 miles again as of today! And only getting stronger). Again, not as you claim. And sure there is risk for rejection but that gets smaller each year with advances or with life of said transplant (to a point). Most ppl will need 2-3 transplants on their life, I will need 2 more depending on when I die, it's a fact of life for me and others.

Again, you sound like a moron who has "read" wikipedia

No one said life isnt brutal, not sure where that came from
