So I got a newsletter from GW (you probably already read it) and they are making magic cards, are they going to be like that one time or is it a completely new thing ?
Looks like it is a way to sell us cardstock copies of the lores. That said, I will purchase some because they will be useful. This week they updated the preorder section with a beastmen lore set as well. The advertisement was not real clear on what it contains. It may be updated, it may not. I couldn't tell.
It says "Available in strictly limited numbers - order now to avoid disappointment." on the GW website, so that would lead me to assume it's a limited edition thing kinda like the rule book and all the neat dice and stuff.
I think the cards will be available after this initial release. The limited release things are the engineer set, gamer pack, and special edition rulebook.
They're pretty much like a fancy reference card, nothing more. You grab the cards of spells you have, and keep them on the table so you know what the spell will do without looking through the book. Not at all essential, but kinda cool. I preordered the deck. Moving to general discussion I guess.
So basically instead of placing a die showing the spell number they give you the option of using cards?
Essentially, it just saves you from having to constantly reference the book for each lore. It is by no means necessary, just convenient at times.
