AoS ME - Tournament List: What to do with 40pts?

    On the upcoming sunday our Meeting Engagement series starts again. It will be a small 16 players tournament. 4 Games, 4 of the 6 ME Battleplans.

    The known enemies are:
    2 Tzeentch (Flamer Spam + Gaunt summoner)
    1 CoS (Irondrakes + Bridge)
    Slaneesh, Ironjawz, LoN, Ogors, Khorne, Std, Sylvaneth

    I played a lot of games in the last weeks and settled on this list:

    Allegiance: Seraphon
    - Constellation: Fangs of Sotek
    SPEARHEAD
    Lord Kroak (320)
    - General
    - Spell : Stellar Tempest
    5 x Saurus Guard (100)
    MAIN BODY
    Saurus Astrolith Bearer (140)
    - Artefact : Serpent God Dagger
    Skink Starpriest (120)
    - Spell : Hand of Glory
    20 x Skinks (120)
    - Boltspitters Celestite Daggers & Star Bucklers
    REARGUARD
    8 x Salamander Hunting Pack (160)
    ENDLESS SPELLS / TERRAIN / COMMAND POINTS

    TOTAL: 960/1000 EXTRA COMMAND POINTS: 0 WOUNDS: 59

    My question is, what to do with the 40 Points?
    I am debating either quicksilver swords or balewind vortex.

    What do you prefer and why? :)

    I would say balewind.
    Reason being that once you have kroak and astrolith you will be able to cast comet, lore spell and celestial deliverance at 22” range 3 times. You can even hit more distant targets if you channel through the starpriest.
    The bonus you will get out of more range and extra spellcast i think is better than what swords would give you

    And if i dump 560 or 600 Points into Kroak, if he dies i have lost anyway.

    I hope he survives the 20 irondrakes / 6+1 flamers for enough turns to hit them back.

    Another question may be the skink spell. I will habe enough CP to reroll ones. Will fiery Convocation be stronger?

    Kroak should be fine. On the balewind with guards around him, he will be -1 to be hit 3+ save 2+ pass to guards and his 4+ after save.
    I think fiery convocation on average will maybe go off twice over your turn and your opponents which is decent. Ive not used it myself as id rather have the reroll ones as it effects a unit over more than just 1 phase

    Hand of glory will affect parting shot too. That's why i am not sure. Melee skinks will just be a last option.

    Just remembered: i can use Hand of glory before the teleport.

    I will use it.
