Quick progress photo. Sculpts are great, I scaled them down a bit and was relieved that they now fit nicely with originals. Can´t wait to get them painted, but I first need more melee units. I also hollowed 80mm base for balista and crew. Edit: Only tip of balista spear needs to be pinned and glued.
With this lot, basic Uruk hai warriors are done (for now). I also quickly painted Grima. I don´t know what happened with photo, but colors are a bit off compared to physical model in my hands.
Welp... Today, kiddo threw wrench into my gears. I wanted to make oldblood on carnosaur for this round of feathered serpent. Since I don't have full kit, but I have bits from making Troglodon I figured out that I can finally use that carnosaur Schleich mini I bought about year ago and kitbash it with oldblood. But kiddo liberated it since and is in dinosaur enthusiast stage of childhood. Saying please didn't work. Promises of new toy didn't work. Promises of bigger dino didn't work... Darn...
A bit different hobbying in between playtime with kiddo. I am converting Ikea TJENA box to storage solution for my Isengard. There should be plenty of space for everything. Bottom floor is for wargs & special minis with right side taller for those pikes and probably Saruman on horse and troll (in time). Second floor should hold all regular infantry and right side will hold balista and banners. Third floor is currently unused. It will probably hold small print of rulebook, ruler and some dice. If I get ridiculous with minis, it might hold plenty more of regular infantry. I still need to glue stoppers so floors don't slide and magnetic foils to those large plates, other than that, it is mostly done. Edit: Also, Mordor battlehost arrived, so I'll be assembling more wargs (and their dismounted riders) soon.
I finished rest of British tanks that were painted. I only have unit of daimlers&dingos and then I have to start assembling another ones. Right now I am at 69 points of British. 4x Stuart 3x Sherman HQ
16 pikes done. Oof... I realised that I am kinda avoiding painting those pikes, as they don't have specific connection line where blade ends and wood starts... So I did it as tearing bandage off and painted them all at once to not think about it anymore. Edit: ripping off band aid?
8 Dismounted warg riders (read Orcs) done. Thank you, I am really proud of my mini´s cheerleader effect.
I assembled more warg riders (or wargs specificaly) and tried to mask gaps with sprue goo. It worked on classic gaps on backs, but messed up side of neck gap and covered hair, so I'll do rest with thinned milliput again.
