Malakai and the Goblin-Hewer were in the Storm of Chaos army, yes, but they were also given rules as a Regiment of Renown for the Dogs of War.

I... have done something bad... involving birds... Magpies, specifically. As Beasts of Chaos is being relegated to TOW, and I don't feel like painting them right now anyway, I have put them into the goat totes for the time being. But... Tzaangor aren't going to TOW, they're staying in AoS... so I'm making a Disciples of Tzeentch army, which currently includes 17 Tzaangor - 1 Shaman, 10 Tzaangor, 3 Skyfires, and 3 Enlightened (which may or may not be on discs, I haven't decided yet).

Almost finished a unit of Trollslayers/Demonslayers. This has been kicking around for about 12 years. One of the first units issued by Avatars of War. I bought them, undercoated them, then lost interest as I already had about 20 in this unit. Finally dug them out. Just need to tweak a few things and put them on larger bases for TOW. I also dug out this daemonslayer I've had kicking around for about the same time. Started on him. Daemonslayer.jpg
And started on the crews for the goblin hewer and flame cannon

I've been working on mine as well. I've wanted a full slayer army for years and now that Doomseeker should be returning I can get some for better than ebay prices.

built my second unit of 6 Skorpekh destroyers
built the megacrocodyle for Tomb Kings (aka dragon without wings)

I see the new gaunts have a much more dinosaurian form. I had to do a double take cause I thought it was a dinosaur mini at first glance.

Yes! Very raptor-esque. Although full disclosure, mine are 3D printed - but they are scans of the GW originals. GW did a good job on these!

20240501_132016.jpg Potato photo but I'm being a hobby/army butterfly today. We have 7th edition Dark Eldar flyers base coated. A few Wood Elf models and cleaning up a Bone giant. Still annoyed I didn't get the Carmen Miranda head for my second one. Work continues on touching up my Tomb Kings but I've been too lazy to photo.

7th Edition eh? Interesting... I thought 7th was in one of the biggest messes of any edition after they had finished with it. Unless you and a gaming group are introducing rules to balance it better?

Good to see some more proper 40K content at least :)

Are those Knights of the Blazing Sun I see on the left there? Very nice! Haven't seen those older sculpts in a long time! :)

We do in fact. Basically it's the "don't be a dick" rule. The space marine and necron players don't use the broken detachment rules but they can use them if they don't go full ahead ahole. We have more IG players than anything else so that tends to even itself out. If I run my two Vulture, six valkyrie and Vendetta list I warn them so they aren't without some defense. Same with my Bugs as I have some weird list ideas. Without this group I'd hate 7th as the times I played it in the wild my 200+ model IG was routinely tabled by the Tau/Eldar alliances. Multiple giant mecha being buffed by multiple seer council on jetbikes and pathfinder so they just kill everything...yeah that sucked.

Yes, yes they are. I found them and while they are of dubious lineage they didn't cost me over $100 that ebay and its ilk were asking. I am an Averland man and between the Blazing Sun and my Volands Venators I field a lot of cavalry. I am a competitive man but fluff is important. Averland is known for using mercenaries so I get to use my Dogs of War. Even if just as spear or the like

YES!!! We are VOland's Venators, the drunken cavalry! We cannot ride, we cannot fight, what wretched knight are we! Which is ironic, because they were the mainstay of my Dogs of War army in 5th and 6th edition and kicked SO much butt!

I gush about the model line a lot. If I wasn't such a moron years ago when you could still buy individual models I'd have the complete line. Instead I had three armies that I sold. After my Tomb Kings and Elves I'm going to get back to them. They are the only army I really take my time with. Need to build and paint my third hot pot and a bunch of pike that I traded for. Annoying that there are only a few units I'm missing but tons of models due to the depth of the model line.

Yeah, I'm kicking myself for selling most of my Dogs of War off at the start of 7th edition, but I was running out of shelf space and needed money to pay for a wedding... Still have Tichi Huichi's Lizardman Raiders though :)
