Those Jezzails look great - they're an excellent update of the old metal pair. I'll certainly see if I can pick some of these up at some point for my rats.

And even more verminous goodness will be previewed next Thursday/Friday when the 4th starter set is previewed in full!

As an aside; why is their pavise triangle shaped and not pavise shaped? The shieldbearer is basicly completly vulnerable. And half the reason the gunner is "protected" is because he's behind the shieldbearer. Bit silly, even if triangles are very skaven-like.

 

It's that wonderfull time of the year again; price-hikes.

Really makes you wonder what kind of razorthin profitmargins they think are operating under that they feel the need to update them (nearly?) yearly...

 

You've answered your question - because it's Skaven to a tee to make a shield that protects the more important gunner and not the expendable shieldbearer - there are plenty of Skavenslaves around to do that job

Sure, but I'd also kinda expect the shieldbearers to be the one to make the shields. And thus be motivated to protect himself

Plus, if nothing else, it's inconvenient if your shieldbearer falls over and you need to wait for the next one to pick up the shield and be your tri-pot
So even the gunner has some motivation to get a bigger shield

Not to mention, once that shieldbearer is down, now the gunner's exposed.

How random. Most of the cosplay tends to be space marines. Not empire.

 

Terrain rules

Models can now jump off cliffs. Unclear if there is going to be fall damage.

Only faction terrain can be destroyed, which feels odd.

Other than that we seem to get 40K rules regarding LoS.

And some terrain pieces can give you a +1 to casting on a D3 roll.

 

Hahaha... they did say that there would be more stuff in the future... but I'm guessing this might have to be a custom build.
