I bit like the books and films topics, what music is everyone listening to at the moment? Me, I'm listening to Bruno Mars - Grenade or The Other Side.
2NE1, BoA, B2ST, Super Junior, and After School are some of my favorites at the moment. I do not listen to a ton of current rock/pop music and prefer the World and K-pop genres.
Bach, Tchaikovsky, Conus, Beethoven... yeah I'm a classical violinist. Also David Garrett (crossover violin).
Bach, Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Handel, Mozart, Vivaldi, Nobou Uematsu, Yasunori Mitsuda, Sabaton, Falconer, the Pogues, Neil Young, New Order, Pet Shop Boys, VNV Nation, Paul Okenfold, XTC, Wax Mannequin, Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker (USS), Shad, the Perishers. . . . . well thats the list of the last 21 artists I have listened to today only. I have over 3,000 artists on iTunes and growing. I should probably 'trim the fat'
I like them too ( + Wagner ). David Garrett is ok. If you like him you can also try Jelonek ( polish rock-like violin ): just some links: Jelonek - BaRock http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9W0wNQCeowo Jelonek - Akka http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Udold4Pj6s <---- this one is great imho Jelonek - Mosquito Flight http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GLgj_YwSbn0 I am listening to the everything that I like. I am not closed to one type of music like Rock, Pop or something, but to be honest - there is one type that I like more than others: war marches! I really love them . They can be even from a game ( like hell march from Red Alert ).
Alice Cooper is my favourite musicial, and he was great in concert a year ago. Full discography on my playlist. Beyond that, I have varied tastes. A lot of classic rock like ACDC, Deep Purple, Rolling Stones etc. like Greenday too, and a bunch of other random stuff. Then, whatever rubbish my gf sneaks onto my playlist while I'm not watching. <_<
I know I know...a somewhat late response. The thing I read here was slightly different than what you wrote. Here's what I thought you wrote: Notice the subtle, but oh so important, difference? As far as music goes: Dance, trance, rock, rap, pop....just about anything. The top 4 would probably be (in nor particular order): Kings of Leon Deadmau5 John Mayer Rihanna The Hunted (Yes, I made a top 4, somewhat unconventianal: I know. I couldn't think of more artists I really like..)
As I am looking through every Bohemian Rhapsody song ever made to find a 'true' instrimental (which I have just found, score!) I would say queen. However what I listen to everyday is completely different to what I paint to. Everyday Rise Against Airbourne Toxic Event Avail Lavigne Radio 1 Live Lounge Albums Paramore Nickleback Good Charlotte etc etc etc on the same genre Painting All American Rejects Linkin Park Lost Prophets For some reason they get me in the painting 'mood'!! This. ALWYAS THIS. Love these guys, seeing them when they come out in June ^_^ Rise Agains, Linkin Park, Skillet, My Chemical Romance, Eve 6, random electronicie songs. Pretty much anything, the "dirty" eminem songs, I adore, they're so funny OH! And anything Tobuscus. That's about it, unless you want me to start listing random one-off songs.
I can't get enough of The Shins, at the moment. They've helped me focus through my Terradons, Slann, and Skink Priest. --DF2K
Mostly industrial (Static-X, Turmion Kätilöt (Finnish Industrial Metal Band) ) , Verjnuarmu (melodic death metal) and Electric six (Alternative rock)
I have just heard a band called Black Keys. The song that I like the most is "Tighten up." They have an old school sound and the vocals sound a lot like Jimmy Hendrix ( to me anyway).
I mostly listen to 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's rock & punk, but random other stuff makes it into my playlist. while i read this thread and typed this reply i was listening to Van Halen's Jump followed by Greenday's Basket case.
Currently celebrating the Boston Bruins winning the Stanley Cup by listening to The Dropkick Murphys. Other favs: Budgie, Frank Zappa, Miles Davis, and Traffic
Boston Kaiser: AWESOME avatar pic. Anyway, I just got a new smartphone and have been listening to a lot of my Ska radio on Pandora. The favorites are Less Than Jake, Reel Big Fish, and Save Ferris, atm. --DF2K
